Magistus Prediction Princess
Deck Primer
I have actually had this Decklist for a while, but I really was just waiting to see if there was going to be any more support being revealed for Magistus. As seen with the OCG Stories Sky Striker support, they got so much support pretty consistently, even till now. So, I was just kinda waiting to see if there was going to be any insane Magistus support dropping so that I wouldn’t have to constantly revisit this Deck. That was not the case, but this support really is 70% good to 30% decent so far. Spoon, the Seal of Magistus is insane since it is both a searcher in the hand who can also banish itself from GY to equip a Magistus monster from GY or Extra Deck. Zoroa, the Magistus Victorious Verethragna is really good interruption and removal on both players’ turns. Endymion, the Crescent of Magistus works really well with their other new piece of support Crowley, the Gifted of Magistus which gives you access to the Invoked Fusions since it is treated as Aleister the Invoker when being used from face-up field as Fusion Material. And with the new Endymion, you can basically access either the Magistus or Invoked Fusions on your opponent’s turn. Magia Magic - Thor Hammer is more of an Endymion card than a Magistus card, but it is searchable in both Decks and is probably at the very most played at 1 copy if people choose to do so. Verre Magic - Lacrima of Light is literally insane, especially for Witchcrafter since it dumps a Spellcaster monster or a Spell/Trap from Deck or it can get you to the new Crowley which gives Witchcrafter access to the Invoked Fusions. And then we got Invoked Magistus Omega which is not awful, but it is certainly not as good for interruption or removal as the new Zoroa Fusion or even Invoked Augoeides even if it can float.
However, the most important card among these is Crowley, the Gifted of Magistus. Besides being treated as Aleister when used from face-up field as Fusion Material, it can Special Summon itself from hand if it was added to hand other than by drawing it. So, adding him from Deck, GY, banishment, or bouncing him from field back to hand will trigger this. Also, if he is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Fusion Summon an Invoked or Magistus Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck using materials from hand and/or field, which means that we will be able to access the Level 9 Invoked Mechaba. It’s been a while since I’ve talked about Invoked Prediction Princess, so as a refresher, Invoked Mechaba is a Level 9 LIGHT Machine Fusion Monster that requires Aleister the Invoker and a LIGHT monster as Fusion Material and as a soft once per turn, when a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect is activated, you can Quick Effect send the same type of card (Monster, Spell, Trap) from your hand to the GY to negate the activation and banish that card. Not only is Mechaba a Level 9 monster that gives you the opportunity to use World Legacy Monstrosity, but if you manage to get it out on your opponent’s turn, that is another point of interaction or even a form of protection for you to utilize. This Deck is Magistus Prediction Princess, and if anything, it is a better version of Invoked Prediction Princess for the sole reason that you can Fusion Summon on your opponent’s turn for a Mechaba or the new Zoroa.
Full combo is either Spoon, the Seal of Magistus + World Legacy Monstrosity or Rilliona, the Magistus of Verre + Monstrosity. Given Spoon and Monstrosity, activate Spoon and discard it to add Zoroa, the Magistus of Flame from your Deck to your hand. Normal Summon Zoroa and activate its effect to equip Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden from your Extra Deck to him. Zoroa triggers upon being equipped to Special Summon Spoon from GY with its effects negated. Activate Artemis’s effect to add Crowley, the Gifted of Magistus from Deck to hand. Crowley activates upon being added to Special Summon himself and on Special Summon, use his effect to Fusion Summon Invoked Mechaba. Activate Monstrosity targeting Mechaba to Special Summon Prediction Princess Bibliomuse and Deus-X Krawler from Deck. Xyz Mechaba and Deus-X into Mereologic Aggregator who sends Herald of the Arc Light from Extra Deck to GY which triggers it in GY to search for Prediction Princess Tarotrei. Aggregator activates its other effect targeting Herald in GY, detaching 1, and reattaching Herald from GY. Link Aggregator and Zoroa into Endymion, the Crescent of Magistus. Chain Link 1 Herald in GY and Chain Link 2 Endymion on field. Endymion equips Crowley from GY to itself and Herald searches for Underworld Ritual of Prediction. Activate Underworld Ritual of Prediction tributing Bibliomuse to Ritual Summon Tarotrei. Bibliomuse triggers in GY to Special Summon herself back face-down. Tarotrei activates targeting and flipping Bibliomuse face-up which triggers Bibliomuse’s Flip Effect which searches Prediction Princess Tarotreith and another Underworld Ritual. Underworld Ritual again tributing Bibliomuse to Ritual Summon Tarotreith face-up. End Phase, Tarotrei Special Summons Deus-X from GY face-down. During your opponent’s Standby Phase, banish Underworld Ritual from GY to Special Summon Bibliomuse from Deck face-down and then you can then use Tarotreith’s effect to flip both Bibliomuse and Deus-X face-up. Bibliomuse’s Flip Effect searches for another Tarotrei and another Underworld Ritual. Now, you have follow-up in hand, Tarotrei can Quick Effect book a monster on field, Deus-X negates all activated monster effects on your opponent’s field, Bibliomuse is protecting Tarotrei and Tarotreith from targeting and destruction, and Endymion can bounce Crowley to hand which triggers him to Special Summon himself from hand and then Fusion Summon another Mechaba or Zoroa, the Magistus Victorious Verethragna.
Now, if you want to go through the Rilliona line, you don’t need to open with Spoon. You can just Normal Summon Rilliona. On Normal Summon, Rilliona searches for Magistus Theurgy from Deck. Activate Theurgy targeting Rilliona to equip Artemis to her from Extra Deck. Artemis activates to search for Crowley who then Special Summons itself from hand and Fusion Summons Mechaba using itself and Rilliona. Activate Monstrosity targeting Mechaba and it’s the same line from there. However, you do not have the additional body to make Endymion, so just Xyz Summon Aggregator into the EMZ and then once you do the Herald stuff with it, Link it off into Gravity Controller. Also, make sure to Ritual Summon Tarotreith face-down since we don’t have access to Endymion bounce Crowley and then Crowley Special Summons himself from hand on our opponent’s turn. We can flip Tarotreith face-up on our opponent’s turn to get a Pot of the Forbidden from our Deck and then use that as interruption instead.
For the Main Deck Monsters: 3 Prediction Princess Tarotrei, 1 Prediction Princess Tarotreith, and 3 Prediction Princess Bibliomuse. Tarotrei can Quick Effect flip a monster on field face-up or face-down and she can Special Summon a Flip Monster from hand or GY face-down during your End Phase. Tarotreith must either be Ritual Summoned or Special Summoned via Tarotrei's effect in the End Phase. Her Flip Effect Special Summons a Flip Monster from your Deck face-down and she can also Quick Effect flip any number of your monsters face-up or face-down. Bibliomuse can Special Summon herself back face-down after being Tributed and sent there. Her Flip Effect adds a Prediction Princess monster other than herself and a Ritual Spell from Deck to hand and while she is face-up on the field, your Ritual Monsters gain targeting and destruction protection from your opponent’s card effects. 1 Deus-X Krawler which negates all activated monster effects on your opponent's side of the field after it has been flipped face-up and if it is destroyed on field, you can search for a Level 9 monster with a different Type and Attribute. 1 Pot of the Forbidden which has a Flip Effect that lets you choose between Drawing 2 cards, returning all Spell/Traps on the field to the hand, destroying all monsters your opponent controls, or looking at your opponent's hand and shuffling a card from it back into the Deck. If you do not want to play the Zoroa, the Magistus Conflagrant Calamity and the Rilliona, the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe (I really thought this name looks really long, but it still loses to Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Evening Twilight and D/D/D/D Super-Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox) in the Extra Deck, you can also consider playing Summoner of Illusions and still be able to access either Mechaba or the Zoroa Fusion through the Rilliona line. For the Magistus Monsters: 1 Zoroa, the Magistus of Flame, 3 Rilliona, the Magistus of Verre, 3 Spoon, the Seal of Magistus, and 2 Crowley, the Gifted of Magistus. Zoroa can target a Magistus you control to equip it with a Magistus from Extra Deck, and if it becomes equipped with a Magistus Monster Card, you can Special Summon a Level 4 Spellcaster from hand or GY (other than another copy of itself) in Defense with its effects negated. Zoroa is not a bad card. In fact, it is one of the better Main Deck Magistus cards. However, in this Deck specifically, it is best to search him off of Spoon rather than hard drawing him. It’s fine if we do hard draw him, but we just need to also draw a LIGHT monster to make up for the fact that we didn’t have Spoon. Crowley would then make Mechaba using itself and the LIGHT monster we drew in our hand. Rilliona on Normal or Special Summon can either add a Magistus Spell/Trap from Deck to hand or return a banished Level 4 or lower Spellcaster to GY. You can also banish her from GY and target a Magistus you control to equip it with a Magistus from GY except for a Level 4 monster. We are mainly just using her to search for a Magistus Spell/Trap, primarily Magistus Theurgy. But her second effect can come up on a following turn if Spoon is not in GY. Her GY effect is basically a heavily watered down version of Spoon’s GY effect. You can discard Spoon from hand to either search for a Magistus monster from Deck other than Spoon or you can halve the ATK of a face-up monster your opponent controls until the end of the turn. Also, you can banish Spoon from GY to target a face-up monster you control and equip it with a Magistus monster from Extra Deck or GY. Spoon is obviously a very good searcher, but let’s talk about that GY effect. Unlike pretty much all the other Magistus cards other than Aiwass (I guess), Spoon can equip a Magistus monster from Extra Deck or GY to any monster you control, so any monster you control can make use of the Magistus monster’s equip effects. Let’s go through them. Aiwass, the Magistus Spell Spirit gives the equipped monster 1000 ATK/DEF. Vahram, the Magistus Divinity Dragon makes the equipped monster unable to be destroyed by your opponent’s Spell/Trap effects and it allows the equipped monster to destroy the monster it battles at the start of the damage step. Ninaruru, the Magistus Glass Goddess allows the monster to make up to 2 attacks on monsters during the Battle Phase and while Ninaruru is equipped, it can target a Magistus card in your Spell/Trap Zone and a Spell/Trap your opponent controls and destroy both. Rilliona, the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe, while equipped to a monster, can target an Effect Monster your opponent controls and negate its effects until the end of the turn. Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden, while equipped to a monster, can add a Magistus monster from Deck to hand. Aiwass in general is good for interruption, but boosting a monster by 1000/1000 when equipped is not that useful. Vahram is pretty specific in what it can be used to help out against. It’s not like it makes the equipped monster unaffected by your opponent’s Spell/Trap effects, and destroying a monster at the start of damage calculation is not too useful in a Deck with a lot of high ATK monsters. If anything, it works better when equipped to a monster that’s equipped with multiple Magistus monsters to maximize its benefits. Ninaruru is pretty good, but I’d rather side it in when I know that I am going second or if I really need Spell/Trap destruction since our Extra Deck has realistically 2-3 replaceable cards. Rilliona is also pretty good. Shame that she is not a Quick Effect, but that would be pushing it. Although she is still good as a way to deal with monster effects on a following turn or going second (sort of). As for Artemis, we are already playing her, but on a following turn, you can use Spoon to equip Artemis to a random monster and then search for Crowley who Special Summons himself and Fusion Summons an Invoked or Magistus Fusion Monster. That’s really good. Moving on, I already explained what Crowley does at the beginning of this, but we are playing 2 because I fear God and so that we can do the thing I just described with Artemis. Next, we have 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos, 3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and 3 Effect Veiler.
For Spell/Traps: 3 Underworld Ritual of Prediction which can Ritual Summon a Prediction Princess Ritual Monster from hand or GY face-up or face-down and you can banish it from GY during the Standby Phase to Special Summon a non-Ritual Prediction Princess monster from Deck face-down. 3 World Legacy Monstrosity which can either Special Summon a Level 9 monster from your hand or target a Level 9 monster you control to Special Summon 2 Level 9 monsters from your Deck with a different type and Attribute, but with different names. I wish there was a way to search this card in this Deck, but because Magistus monsters are a 4-axis Deck, it’s not like we can consistently put a Level 1 on the field to make Ib the World Chalice Justiciar. 1 Magistus Theurgy which targets a Magistus you control to equip it with a Magistus from your Extra Deck, GY, or face-up field except for a Level 4 monster. But if you have at least 1 each of a Magistus Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monster in your Gy, you can equip it with a non-Magistus Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link from your Extra Deck instead. This card is what you are primarily searching off of Rilliona to do your combo. But we are also playing 1 Magistus Vritra which targets a Level 4 or lower Magistus in GY and Special Summons it. Also, if a Magistus card(s) in your Spell/Trap Zones would be destroyed by your opponent’s card effect, you can banish it from GY instead. So, if you draw Theurgy, you can still search this off of Rilliona and then you will be able to end on an Endymion, the Crescent of Magistus equipped with a Crowley like if you went through the Spoon into Zoroa line. 1 Pot of Prosperity and 1 Called by the Grave. 3 Infinite Impermanence.
Extra Deck: 2 Invoked Mechaba. 1 Zoroa, the Magistus Victorious Verethragna which requires a Magistus and a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link as Fusion Material. It can target an Effect Monster your opponent controls or in your GY and equip that monster to itself. And when a monster effect is activated, it can Quick Effect send a face-up Magistus Monster Card you control to the GY to negate that effect and then you can destroy 1 card your opponent controls. Really good effect being able to negate an activated monster effect and then destroy that card if it was on field or another card your opponent controls. 1 Zoroa, the Magistus Conflagrant Calamity which requires a Spellcaster Tuner and 1+ non-Tuners as material. On Synchro Summon, it can equip a Magistus monster from your Extra Deck to itself. And while it is face-up on the field, your opponent cannot activate the effects of monsters with the same card type as the Magistus Monster Cards in your Spell/Trap Zone (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Link). Also, if it is in the GY, you can target a Magistus card you control and destroy it to Special Summon Zoroa back. 2 Herald of the Arc Light which adds a Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand if it is sent to the GY. 2 Mereologic Aggregator, 1 Laevateinn, Generaider Boss of Shadows, and 1 Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity. 1 Rilliona, the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe which is to be either used with the Synchro Zoroa or with Spoon as mentioned previously. 1 S:P Little Knight. 1 Endymion, the Crescent of Magistus. On Link Summon, he can target a Magistus you control and equip a Spellcaster from your GY or banishment to it. And during the Main Phase, as a Quick Effect, he can target a Spellcaster Monster Card in your Spell/Trap Zone that’s treated as an Equip Spell and return it to hand. Notably, these effects are 1 effect per turn and only once that turn. 1 Gravity Controller. 1 Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden.
Side Deck: 1 Aiwass, the Magistus Spell Spirit which requires a Magistus and a Spellcaster as Fusion Material. While its an Equip Card, the equipped monster gains 1000 ATK/DEF and during the Main Phase, you can Quick Effect target 1 other face-up monster on the field and equip it to that monster. And while it is equipped to an opponent’s monster, you take control of that monster but it cannot activate its effects. Aiwass is just an alternative Fusion Monster you can make with Crowley on your opponent’s turn or something you can play instead of Synchro Zoroa if you choose to play Summoner of Illusions and want more Fusion Monster options. 1 Vahram, the Magistus Divinity Dragon and 1 Ninaruru, the Magistus Glass Goddess. Vahram is for scenarios where you want to equip a Synchro Monster to Synchro Zoroa or IDK if you want to protect your Tarotrei from Lightning Storm? Ninaruru has more usage since it can make a monster its equipped to (via Spoon’s effect) into a double attacker and as Spell/Trap removal. 3 Nibiru, the Primal Being, 3 Droll & Lock Bird, 3 Dark Ruler No More, and 3 Evenly Matched.
