Power: Low Rogue (6.8/10) - This is stronger and fully TCG-legal, but it stays Low Rogue because Yosenju still depends on normal-summon chains, tempo traps, and repeated chip pressure rather than a modern one-card engine. The deck is much cleaner now: forbidden Abyss Dweller, Apollousa, and Red Reboot are gone, Droll & Lock Bird is down to a legal two copies, and the list gains Pot of Extravagance plus a tighter Rank 4 toolbox.
Consistency: Strong. Yosenju Kama 1, Kama 2, Kama 3, Sabu, Tenki, Pot of Duality, Pot of Extravagance, and Yosenju Oroshi Channeling give the deck steady access to starters, scales, and follow-up. The monster count still keeps the classic Yosenju identity visible, while trimming some slower Wind Worship and Training Grounds weight.
Ceiling: Moderate. This is not a combo deck; it wins by normal-summoning multiple Yosenju names, bouncing threats with Kama 1 or Sword Sting, attacking directly with Kama 2, and backing the turn with Lose 1 Turn, Secret Move, and hand traps. The Extra Deck is a legal toolbox now: Tiger King, Lightning Chidori, Castel, Bagooska, Tornado Dragon, Exciton Knight, Utopia the Lightning, Borrelsword, and Knightmare links cover specific game states.
Recovery: Solid. Yosenju monsters returning to hand naturally preserve resources, Kama 3 and Sabu search follow-up, Yosen Training Grounds can cash counters for another Yosenju card, and Pot of Extravagance gives the deck more cards without leaning on the Extra Deck. The deck struggles more if its normal summon is stopped repeatedly or if floodgates are removed before the Yosenju player can convert tempo into damage.
Going first/second: Flexible, with a slight going-first lean. Going first, set up Lose 1 Turn, Secret Move, Sword Sting, Duality/Extravagance, and a safe Yosenju chain. Going second, Kama 1, Sword Sting, Evenly Matched, Dark Ruler No More, Cosmic Cyclone, Feather Duster, Pankratops, and Nibiru help clear space before the Yosenju monsters bounce back to safety.
Choke points: Stop the first Yosenju normal-summon chain, remove Tenki before it resolves, or force out Secret Move before committing the real threat. If the opponent keeps monsters off the field or stops Kama 3 from dealing/searching, the deck has to play a slower trap-control game.
Key cards: Yosenju Kama 1, Yosenju Kama 2, Yosenju Kama 3, Yosenju Sabu, Yosenju Izna, Fire Formation - Tenki, Pot of Duality, Pot of Extravagance, Yosenjus' Secret Move, Yosenjus' Sword Sting, Lose 1 Turn, Yosenju Oroshi Channeling.
Key combos: Kama 1, Kama 2, and Kama 3 chain extra normal summons to build pressure, bounce a face-up card, attack directly, and search a Yosenju card after damage. Sabu searches Shinchu scales or helps reset a Yosenju card into backrow access. Sword Sting reveals Yosenju monsters from hand while you control no monsters, bouncing opposing face-up cards without committing bodies. Secret Move turns any face-up Yosenju card into a broad negate, and Lose 1 Turn punishes Special Summoned monsters while your Yosenjus naturally return to hand.
