Power: Low Rogue (6.3/10) - This is now a cleaner TCG-legal Link Evolution build, but it stays Low Rogue because the Battleguard cards are still older battle-focused payoffs. The rebuild removes Link Evolution-incompatible Battleguard Cadet and the Forbidden extra-deck cards Isolde, Apollousa, and Abyss Dweller, then uses legal Level 5 Warriors to make the Rank 5 plan much more reliable.
Consistency: Solid for a theme-first Joey deck. Lava Battleguard, Swamp Battleguard, Super Quantum Red Layer, Tenma the Sky Star, Hayate the Earth Star, Kaiki the Unity Star, Overlay Booster, Feast of the Wild LV5, Reinforcement of the Army, Living Fossil, Monster Reborn, and Instant Fusion all help put Level 5 bodies on the table.
Ceiling: Moderate. The main pressure is Rank 5 Xyz toolboxing through Volcasaurus, Shark Fortress, Tiras, Adreus, Pleiades, Artifact Durendal, and Zenmaioh. Kaiki also opens Warrior Fusion lines into Idaten and Shura, while Battleguard King, Battleguard Rage, Battleguard Howling, Sogen, and Moon Mirror Shield keep the old Joey combat identity intact.
Recovery: Fair. Feast of the Wild LV5, Monster Reborn, Living Fossil, and Kaiki give follow-up from the GY, and Pot of Desires helps find another wave. The deck can rebuild a second push, but it still spends real cards to make its Rank 5 boards.
Going first/second: Better going second. Red Layer, Tenma, Hayate, Feast, and Instant Fusion help create Rank 5 pressure, then the deck can push with Volcasaurus into Shark Fortress-style damage. Going first, Pleiades, Durendal, Tiras, Battleguard Howling, Infinite Impermanence, and Ash Blossom are the main interaction points. The side deck brings Dark Ruler No More, Evenly Matched, Twin Twisters, Cosmic Cyclone, Nibiru, and Lancea.
Choke points: Stop Feast of the Wild LV5, Tenma, Hayate, or Kaiki before they convert into two Level 5 bodies. Banishing Lava or Swamp Battleguard from the GY weakens Feast. Removing the first Rank 5 before it can use material also keeps the deck from turning pressure into damage.
Key cards: Lava Battleguard, Swamp Battleguard, Battleguard King, Feast of the Wild LV5, Battleguard Howling, Battleguard Rage, Super Quantum Red Layer, Tenma the Sky Star, Hayate the Earth Star, Kaiki the Unity Star, Volcasaurus, Shark Fortress, Idaten the Conqueror Star.
Key combos: Tenma can summon an EARTH Level 5 Warrior from hand, including Lava, Swamp, or Hayate. Hayate can summon a LIGHT Level 5 Warrior from hand, including Tenma, Kaiki, or Overlay Booster. Feast revives two Level 5 Warriors for Rank 5 Xyz plays. Kaiki can turn Level 5 Warrior bodies into Idaten, and Idaten searches another Level 5 Warrior for follow-up. Volcasaurus burns a monster, then Shark Fortress or Borrelsword helps close games.Power: Casual
Consistency: Medium, with Battleguard Cadet, Feast of the Wild LV5, and Warrior extenders helping the theme move.
Ceiling: Rank 5 Xyz pushes backed by Battleguard King and Battleguard Howling.
Recovery: Mostly relies on recurring pressure from Extra Deck bodies rather than deep engine grind.
Going first/second: Better going second, where Rank 5s and Battleguard Howling can punish boards.
Choke points: Stop Feast of the Wild LV5 or the first Level 5 body and the deck can run out of pressure.
Key cards: Battleguard King, Lava Battleguard, Swamp Battleguard, Feast of the Wild LV5.
Key combos: Level 5 Battleguards become Volcasaurus, Shark Fortress, or other Rank 5 pressure while Warriors bridge into Isolde lines.
