Ahhh... At last, with Icejade Aegirine Rahn's release, my favourite deck is now finally playable.
The deck's really simple, your playstyle will depend on your starting hand. We have 2 playstyles:
- Icejade Kosmochlor + Icejade Curse lock. You'll need 3 cards in order to set up that lock, the 2 cards mentionned before as well as our field spell. This lock makes it so that your opponent is unable to activate the effects of monsters on the field and with a 3000 defense body + the field spell's attack reduction, getting out of that lock is pretty tough. The pretty neat thing about that combo is that it doesn't even require a normal summon and you'll be able to go into other combos depending on how good your starting hand is. You usually wanna go for this combo whenever you're able to since it's such a pain in the butt for the opponent to deal with.
- Synchro out whichever lvl 10 you prefer. This playstyle is a lot more straightforward and will be much more used than the previous one considering how easy it is to pull off. There are multiple ways of doing it depending on your starting hand. If you have 1 Deep Sea Diva , you'll be able to get a lvl 10 synchro out really easily. Normal summon her, special summon Guitar Gurnards Duonigis, use its effect to increase Diva's level and synchro them into the Deep Sea Prima Donna OR increase Guitar Gurnards Duonigis 's level and synchro into a level 8 monster. Use Prima Donna's effect to special summon Icejade Aegirine ( who you can use to search whatever you need ) and then synchro whichever lvl 10 synchro you prefer. I'll usually summon Icejade Gymir Aegirine since it's my favourite card but don't be like me, summon Baronne instead. You can also do this whole combo with just 1 Icejade Aegirine Rahn and 1 Icejade card to dump without even using your normal summon.
Oh wait i forgot another combo; Marincess Coral Anemone into Worldsea Dragon Zealantis . It's pretty much just a board wipe against non-water decks since Coral Anemone locks you into water monsters, making it so that Zealantis can only summon back water monsters. Go for it if your opponent has a card that's somehow both untargettable and indestructible or if you just want to see them suffer as their monsters are all banished.
That's pretty much it, I told you the deck was simple. If you're lucky enough, you could both pull off the lock AND get a lvl 10 synchro out! *sigh* It's a pretty fun deck to play, borderline rogue tier *inhales copium*. You'll be able to beat meta decks with a good enough starting hand. Overall, become a viable deck thanks to Aegirine Rahn so you should give it a try!
