If anything, the new Gusto support from DAMA, while it is really good for the Deck, doesn’t really help the Deck when the Deck’s biggest problem is the fact that their floaters miss timing. However, it really does help out the Synchro aspect of the Deck. Today’s Level 9 monster that we are looking at is Hyper Psychic Blaster which is a Level 9 EARTH Psychic Synchro Monster that requires 1 Tuner and 1 or more non-Tuner Psychic monsters as Synchro Material. It inflicts piercing damage and the rest of its effect is really worded weirdly but the TLDR of it is that at the end of the damage step, if it attacked a Defense Position monster with DEF lower than its ATK, you gain Life Points equal to the difference. That being, its current DEF if it’s still on the field or original DEF if it is no longer on the field. I’ve actually played with this card a bunch in Duel Links I think back when the card pack with Dimensional Prison released since it had the neo-Sayer cards like Psychic Wheeleder and Psychic Tracker which were good for Synchro Summoning the 3-axis Synchros and the like at that time, especially with cards like Overdrive Teleporter. So why are we talking about Gustos all of a sudden? Well, with their new card in Tailwind of Gusto, it makes getting out Hyper Psychic Blaster comically easy. Do the Gusto cards do anything outside of that in this Deck? Not really. Most of their good cards either require you to play more Gusto names to make better use of them or they WIND-lock you for the rest of the turn which we can’t really work with. I mean what else would you want me to play to make Hyper Psychic Blaster? Make P.U.N.K. JAM Dragon Drive and activate Emergency Teleport to get a Dimensional Allotrope Varis from Deck? That actually doesn’t sound too bad, but I would much rather save P.U.N.K. for when I attempt to make a Prediction Princess Deck focusing on Overmind Archfiend, who is one of the more infuriatingly bad neo-Sayer cards to be released. We have a few 3-card combos to get us where we need to go, but the two at the top of my head are Gusto Vedir + Tailwind of Gusto + World Legacy Monstrosity and Foolish Burial Goods + Gusto Griffin + World Legacy Monstrosity. Going with the first combo, Normal Summon Vedir, equip it with Tailwind, use Tailwind to Special Summon Windaar, Sage of Gusto from Deck, Synchro into Hyper Psychic Blaster, and activate Monstrosity. Second combo: activate Foolish Burial Goods to send Tailwind of Gusto from Deck to GY, activate Tailwind in GY to discard Griffin and add another Tailwind from Deck to hand, trigger Griffin to get Vedir from Deck, equip it with Tailwind, use Tailwind to get Windaar from Deck, Synchro into Hyper Psychic Blaster, and activate Monstrosity. Is it good? Not really. If anything, Synchroing for something other than Hyper Psychic Blaster would be much more worthwhile, especially since it gets you Bibliomuse whereas Hyper Psychic Blaster cannot as it is EARTH. But we are playing other Level 9 Synchros, so you do have the choice. It’s a simple combo, but it works.
For the Main Deck monsters: 3 Prediction Princess Tarotrei, 1 Prediction Princess Tarotreith, and 3 Prediction Princess Bibliomuse. Tarotrei can Quick Effect flip a monster on field face-up or face-down and during the End Phase, she can Special Summon a Flip Monster from hand or GY face-down. Tarotreith must either be Ritual Summoned or Special Summoned via Tarotrei’s End Phase effect. Her Flip Effect Special Summons a Flip Monster from Deck face-down and she can also Quick Effect flip any number of your monsters face-up or face-down. Bibliomuse can Special Summon herself back from the GY face-down if she was Tributed and sent there. Her Flip Effect adds a Prediction Princess monster other than herself and a Ritual Spell from Deck to hand and while she is face-up on the field, she gives your Ritual Monsters targeting and destruction protection from your opponent’s effects. 1 Deus-X Krawler which negates all activated monster effects on your opponent’s side of the field after it has been flipped face-up and if it is destroyed on the field, you can add a Level 9 monster from your Deck to your hand with a different Type and Attribute than this card. 2 Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag which is a Level 9 we can easily Summon. It can Special Summon itself from hand if there is a monster in the EMZ and you can target a monster in the EMZ and equip it to itself. Then, if it destroys a monster by battle, it can Special Summon a monster that is equipped to it. 1 Frodi, Generaider Boss of Swords which is just a WIND Level 9 monster. Its effect does not matter. 1 Mariamne, the True Dracophoenix which is another WIND Level 9. You can destroy 2 monsters from hand and/or field including a WIND monster to Special Summon her from your hand. This technically can trigger some of your cards like Gusto Griffin and it can also act as your Level 9 monster on field for Monstrosity to target if you really want. The reason why we are playing Frodi and Mariamne is because we need WIND monsters to discard for Tailwind of Gusto. We are only playing a few Gustos and having more WINDS to be able to discard for Tailwind’s GY effect really does help, especially since you can also use Frodi and Mariamne as Monstrosity targets. For the Gustos: 1 Windaar, Sage of Gusto, 3 Gusto Vedir, and 3 Gusto Griffin. Windaar is just a Level 6 Gusto we need to Special Summon from Deck off of Tailwind. Vedir can Special Summon itself if a face-up Gusto monster on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect and it can send a Gusto from Deck to GY to optionally Special Summon a Gusto from hand. But, we are realistically just using it as a Level 3 non-Psychic Gusto monster to equip Tailwind to in order to get Windaar from Deck to Synchro into Hyper Psychic Blaster. If anything, you could use its effect to dump a Gusto from Deck to send a copy of Kamui, Hope of Gusto from Deck as it is a Flip Monster if you want to be cute, but the more important theory behind this effect is that you can Special Summon a Gusto from hand like Windaar. Tailwind only Special Summons from Deck, so if you happen to draw Windaar, you can still get him onto the field from hand with Vedir. Griffin can Special Summon a Gusto from Deck if it is sent from hand or GY. And this effect is a hard once per turn. Out of nowhere, we just have a Gusto with an “If” clause that is hard once per turn which is so strange to me. But it can be discarded for Tailwind’s effect from GY to get you a Gusto from Deck.
For the Spell/Traps: 3 Underworld Ritual of Prediction which Ritual Summons a Prediction Princess Ritual Monster from hand or GY face-up or face-down and you can also banish it from GY during the Standby Phase to Special Summon a non-Ritual Prediction Princess from Deck face-down. 2 Prediction Ritual which only Ritual Summons Prediction Princess Tarotrei and you can banish it from GY except the turn it was sent there to add a Prediction Princess monster from Deck to hand. 3 Pre-Preparation of Rites. 3 Foolish Burial Goods. 3 Tailwind of Gusto which is an Equip Spell that only equips to a Gusto monster, making it unable to be destroyed by your opponent’s card effects. You can banish it from GY and discard a WIND monster to add a Gusto Spell/Trap (including itself) from Deck to hand. And while it is equipped to a monster, if the monster is Level/Rank 4 or lower, you can Special Summon a Gusto with a different Type than the equipped monster from Deck or if the monster is Level/Rank 5 or higher, you can Special Summon a Level 1 Tuner from Deck. 1 Instant Fusion for Master of Ham. 3 World Legacy Monstrosity which either Special Summons a Level 9 monster from hand or targets a Level 9 monster you control to Special Summon 2 Level 9 monsters from your Deck with a different Type and Attribute than that monster but with different names. And 3 Pot of Prosperity.
Extra Deck: 1 Master of Ham which Special Summons a Flip Monster from hand or Deck face-down on Fusion Summon. 1 Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys and 1 Cloudcastle as our alternate Level 9 Synchro options. 1 Hyper Psychic Blaster. 2 Herald of the Arc Light which searches a Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell if sent to GY. 1 Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder. 1 Infinitrack Earth Slicer. 2 Mereologic Aggregator. 1 Laevateinn, Generaider Boss of Shadows and 1 Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity. 1 S:P Little Knight, 1 I:P Masquerena, and 1 Gravity Controller.
Side Deck: 2 Nibiru, the Primal Being, 3 Thunder King, the Lightningstrike Kaiju, 2 Dark Ruler No More, 2 Lightning Storm, 3 Evenly Matched, and 3 Infinite Impermanence.
