A quick description on the reasoning behind including each card:
Magicians' Souls : Used to send Kazejin to special summon and then send either Double Attack! Wind and Thunder!! , Riryoku Guardian or Prey of the Jirai Gumo to the grave to draw and use their search effects.
Elemental HERO Prisma : Used to send any of the Gate Guardians Combined pieces to the grave. Also changes its name on the field to allow for a summon of either Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind , Gate Guardian of Water and Thunder or Gate Guardian of Wind and Water .
Shining Piecephilia : No real reason, I just like that card, can be switched out for anything you like better.
Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth : Limited to one in this event. The searcher for your Labyrinth Wall Shadow . Non targeting destruction during the battle phase from the graveyard if Labyrinth Wall Shadow is on your field.
Sanga of the Thunder , Suijin , Kazejin : The pieces needed to build your Gate Guardians Combined or the smaller pieces. (from now on collectively called GG parts).
Labyrinth Heavy Tank : You can normal summon this without tributing. Places one of the GG parts on the field from the hand, deck or the banish pile, but NOT from the GY. The smaller GG pieces can only be summoned with material from the field, so keep this in mind.
Raigeki , Harpie's Feather Duster : Nice field you got there, would be a shame if something happened to it.
Foolish Burial : Send your GG parts or in extremely rare cases Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth .
Reinforcement of the Army : Searches Elemental HERO Prisma .
Fusion Conscription : Adds the GG parts to your hand from the deck.
Riryoku Guardian : Effect can set up nice OTKs, especially when combined with Gate Guardian of Water and Thunder . GY effect adds the GG parts to your hand from the deck or banish pile, but NOT from the GY.
Labyrinth Wall Shadow : Places one of the GG parts on the field from the hand, deck or the banish pile, but NOT from the GY. Prevents low level monsters from attacking and destroys a weak monster at the beginning of your opponents battle phase.
Scapegoat : Can you play a deck reminiscent of the Duelist Kingdom arc without playing Scapegoat ? I think not. Also it happens very often that you only summon one monster on your first turn, so it almost always find enough space on the field. Can also be sent away to draw with Magicians' Souls . Be aware that you cannot summon the turn you activate this, so this can prevent you to use the special summon effects of Gate Guardians Combined and its smaller pieces and parts.
Burial from a Different Dimension : Since Gate Guardians Combined can be summoned using material from the GY this just lets you get another one out easily.
Double Attack! Wind and Thunder!! : Target destruction on a quick spell. Also GY effect searches/recycles GG parts from the deck or banish pile, but again not from the GY.
Infinite Impermanence : Negate from hand going second, but also always nice going first.
Waking the Dragon : It's shocking how many people forgot this exists and just blow up your backrow without a second thought. If they are going second and destroy this as their first action, The Last Warrior from Another Planet them. Later on, or if you don't wanna lose your field Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon is always a good option. Flower Cardian Lightflare is in there just as a beater with an effect negation during battle. Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon is just another negate. Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon is just always a nice boss monster, especially if your opponent doesn't run any beaters and relies on effects to cleat the field. Borrelsword Dragon is also an option and you probably will not summon it normally.
Prey of the Jirai Gumo : Best set in the same column as an extra monster zone as it destroys a card in the same column on summon. Can only be summoned to the same column it is set into so leave space for it. GY effect searches/recycles GG parts from the deck or banish pile, but not from the GY.
The Last Warrior from Another Planet : Just a total lockdown on summons for the price of all of your monsters (except unaffected monsters *cough* Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon *cough*). Summoned with Waking the Dragon .
Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind : Searches all of your supporting spells. A quick effect destruction with Double Attack! Wind and Thunder!! or an OTK with Riryoku Guardian should always be a consideration, so don't underestimate this card.
Gate Guardian of Wind and Water : What's better than one quick effect spell/trap effect negation? 2 quick effect spell/trap effect negations. Always nice to summon turn one.
Gate Guardian of Water and Thunder : Target reduces the ATK of 2 of your opponents monsters to 0. Remember this can be summoned during your battle phase if you crash Gate Guardians Combined into something, use its effect and still attack.
Gate Guardians Combined : Summons your GG pieces on leaving the field, this means this also applies if it leaves the field because of a kaiju or Santa Claws . Negates anything that targets like Infinite Impermanence but also equip cards.
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon : Probably the best target if the circumstances don't allow for a The Last Warrior from Another Planet . Quick effect monster negate and beats over every lvl 5 or higher monster. Summoned with Waking the Dragon .
Flower Cardian Lightflare : What to do if your opponent has a Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ? Beat over it with this one here. Summoned with Waking the Dragon .
Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon : Negates a spell/trap, is unaffected by your opponents activated monster effects more often than not and can be quite the beater. Oh and on leaving the field it can search Kazejin . Summoned with Waking the Dragon .
Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon : Unaffected by everything with 3500 ATK. Summoned with Waking the Dragon .
Borrelsword Dragon : Probably the easiest to change out card of the extra deck. The other options for Waking the Dragon are just so much better and without Link Spider there is no easy way to bring it out with Scapegoat .
G Golem Invalid Dolmen : Needs 3 Earth monsters to summon. Scapegoat summons 4 Earth monsters. Also Link-3, which is nice for Accesscode Talker 's ATK boost.
Accesscode Talker : Summoned if you activated Scapegoat during your opponents end phase. Use the 4 tokens to go into Linkuriboh and G Golem Invalid Dolmen and have a nice beater with two-non negateable destructions on the field.
Linkuriboh : Either used with Magicians' Souls to have some battle protection for your Gate Guardians or with Scapegoat to go into Accesscode Talker .
This deck wants to go first. Since there is no Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring there is no need for any Level 10 synchro shenanigans.
Hope you enjoy this half callback to the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! that is surprisingly good in this event.
