This isn't quite the Chaos variant you might've been expecting when seeing Magician of Faith. Nah, this one's more focused primarily on Flip Monsters and cycling decent-to-great Spell Cards. For that sorta vibe, I'd recommend looking into Shaddolls, Thunder Dragons, or Orcust with the entire Bystial engine incorporated for a pretty neat iteration of Chaos Control. As the tagline suggests, this deck takes inspiration mostly from NobodyTCG and Hamtaro, two people that I knew from Trinity's Discord server that had a thing for incorporating strategies from Goat Format into Trinity (for better or worse). They were always fun to see, so here's my take on the formula as well, without being a blatant copycat.
The strategy takes advantage of the fact that Magician of Faithfulness is Unbound, meaning we get to play three copies of it at no cost to us. This doubles a boon for the sake of building up 3/5 slots towards a Point on top of being able to reference itself for its own effect (which we should be doing pretty regularly, unless we don't already have OG MoF in rotation).
- Difficulty -
★★★☆☆
While this deck isn't exactly hard to play, I'd more so argue that it's a challenge to compete with. Since our main deck monsters aren't the best, we'll want to beat up the opponent (irl) in order to nerf them to our level and be on the same playing ground. Focus on cycling your spells as best you can and pivot the Extra Deck where appropriate. While there's frankly insane strategies that can be curated right now in Trinity (like that TCG Unchained Jumpscare that happened last season), any investment that isn't a board wipe usually is considered in our favor as 1 for 1 trades with bad cards is always a plus and battle is usually the most sought-after out to Flip Monsters.
- Consistency -
★★☆☆☆
Not terribly consistent. You play the hand you're dealt and hope for the best. We have plenty of tutors and potent S/Ts so it's not like you'll brick per se, you just won't have a crazy opener.
- Sackiness -
★★★☆☆
Monster Stealing is the main asset of sacking with this deck. If you want to sack more then pivot Chaos!
- Viability -
★☆☆☆☆
This strategy is entirely for fun so play it with that purpose.
45 Card Deck = 3 Points with 3p used.
1p Pot of Greed
1p Change of Heart
.5p Mind Control
.5p Titanocider
I'll consider beefing this baby up to be a properly somewhat viable deck in the future but it'll be on the backburner until I figure out Crusadia.
Please remember to have fun and enjoy whatever you do for your pasttime... and be kind to your opponents! >:D
