Dragunity Prediction Princess
Deck Primer
The Dragunity support coming out of TW03 is really good. I am not too caught up with modern Dragunity to understand how this will affect the Deck’s combo lines and their endboard, but for my own purposes, I am really liking how Dragunity Quirinus reads. Essentially, Quirinus can search a Dragunity Spell/Trap on Summon and it can also bounce a Dragunity Monster Card you control to hand/Extra Deck and the Special Summon a Dragunity from hand. What this means is that you can Summon Quirinus, add Dragunity Divine Lance to hand, equip Lance to Quirinus, Lance effect to equip any Dragon Dragunity Tuner monster to Quirinus from Deck, and then Quirinus bounce said equipped Tuner to hand to immediately Special Summon it out onto the field. While this can immediately get you to Dragunity Knight - Gae Dearg to continue your plays while also prepping to Synchro climb or give you the materials for a Dragunity Knight - Romulus, because this does not lock you into anything, we can use it to get a Level 1 Dragunity Tuner onto the field to Synchro with Quirinus to make Ib the World Chalice Justiciar. And it also just so happens that Dragunity has a Level 4 extender in its archetype in Dragunity Legatus which is very searchable off of Dragon Ravine (which is a Dragunity card), but not only can you play 3 Ravine, you can also play 3 Dragunity Remus to search said Ravines where said Ravines are also a soft once per turn to search. As much as I am hyping this up to be, using Dragunity as an engine to facilitate Prediction Princess doesn’t feel too good. The consistency IS there, but it just takes too many cards. It takes to many cards for the combo given that you need to discard to search off of Dragon Ravine, you need to find a way to both Legatus and Quirinus, and just Quirinus by itself doesn’t even immediately get you to a Level 1 Dragunity Tuner as you need to first search for Lance and use Lance’s effect. And it also takes too many cards in terms of how much Deckspace this engine requires. Sure, I may have gone overkill on the ways to search for Ravine in the Deck, but at the same time, this Deck only has the 1 combo and it really needs the consistency to get there. While this does work as a Deck, I would much rather play a Predaplant engine, a World Legacy engine, or even a Runick Prediction Princess Deck using either Draconnet or a Dinosaur engine to get to Ib. Medius also works very well.
Combo is Dragunity Quirinus and Dragunity Legatus. Normal Summon Quirinus and activate its effect on Summon to add Dragunity Divine Lance from Deck to hand. Equip Lance to Quirinus and activate Lance’s effect to equip Dragunity Corsesca from Deck to Quirinus. Because you control a Dragunity, you can Special Summon Legatus from hand. Activate Quirinus’s effect to return Corsesca to hand and then Special Summon Corsesca from hand. Synchro Corsesca and Quirinus into Ib the World Chalice Justiciar. On Synchro Summon, Ib searches for World Legacy Monstrosity. Synchro Ib and Legatus into Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys. Crocodragon draws you a card on Synchro Summon and then you can activate Monstrosity targeting Crocodragon to Special Summon Enneacraft - Astay.PIXIEA and Prediction Princess Bibliomuse from Deck. Xyz PIXIEA and Crocodragon into Mereologic Aggregator in the EMZ. Aggregator sends Herald of the Arc Light from Extra Deck to GY on Xyz Summon which triggers Herald as it was sent to GY to search for Prediction Princess Tarotrei. Activate Aggregator’s other effect targeting Herald in GY, detaching 1 Xyz Material, and then attaching Herald from GY to itself. Link Aggregator into Gravity Controller. This triggers Herald as it was sent to GY again which gives you a search for Underworld Ritual of Prediction. Activate Underworld Ritual to Ritual Summon Tarotrei by tributing Bibliomuse. Bibliomuse triggers in GY off of being tributed in order to Special Summon herself back face-down. Activate Tarotrei’s effect targeting Bibliomuse to flip it face-up, which triggers its Flip Effect to add Prediction Princess Tarotreith and another Underworld Ritual from Deck. Activate Underworld Ritual tributing Bibliomuse to Ritual Summon Tarotreith face-down. During your End Phase, activate Tarotrei’s effect in order to Special Summon PIXIEA back from the GY face-down. During your opponent’s turn, you can banish Underworld Ritual from GY to Special Summon a Bibliomuse from Deck face-down and chain Tarotrei’s effect targeting your face-down Tarotreith to flip it face-up. On a new chain, Tarotreith’s Flip Effect triggers to Special Summon a Deus-X Krawler from Deck face-down. On another new chain, you can then Quick Effect activate Tarotreith’s other effect to flip Bibliomuse, Deus-X, and PIXIEA face-up. Bibliomuse’s Flip Effect searches a Prediction Princess monster and a Ritual Spell for follow-up and she provides your Ritual Monsters targeting and destruction protection from your opponent’s card effects. Deus-X, after it is flipped face-up, negates all activated monster effects on your opponent’s side of the field. PIXIEA, after it is flipped face-up, prevents your opponent from targeting cards on the field or in either GY with card effects.
For the Main Deck Monsters: 3 Prediction Princess Tarotrei, 1 Prediction Princess Tarotreith, and 3 Prediction Princess Bibliomuse. Tarotrei can Quick Effect flip a monster on field face-up or face-down and she can Special Summon a Flip Monster from hand or GY face-down during your End Phase. Tarotreith must either be Ritual Summoned or Special Summoned via Tarotrei's effect in the End Phase. Her Flip Effect Special Summons a Flip Monster from your Deck face-down and she can also Quick Effect flip any number of your monsters face-up or face-down. Bibliomuse can Special Summon herself back face-down after being Tributed and sent there. Her Flip Effect adds a Prediction Princess monster other than herself and a Ritual Spell from Deck to hand and while she is face-up on the field, your Ritual Monsters gain targeting and destruction protection from your opponent’s card effects. 1 Deus-X Krawler which negates all activated monster effects on your opponent's side of the field after it has been flipped face-up and if it is destroyed on field, you can search for a Level 9 monster with a different Type and Attribute. 1 Enneacraft - Astay.PIXIEA which can, when your opponent activates a card or effect that targets a card(s) you control, flip itself face-up as part of this effect’s activation in order to negate that effect and then allow you to banish a random card out of your opponent’s hand face-down. Also, after it has been flipped face-up, your opponent cannot target cards on either field or in either GY with card effects. 2 Dragunity Legatus. If you control a Dragunity monster or a Dragon Ravine, you can Special Summon it from your hand as an activated effect. Notably, it can also target a Spell/Trap on the field and destroy that card if there is a Dragunity Monster Card(s) in your Spell/Trap Zone. While this doesn’t always come up, it is a useful effect that does exist on Legatus. 3 Dragunity Quirinus. If it is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 Dragunity Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. Also, you can target 1 other Dragunity Monster Card you control to return it to hand or Extra Deck and then you can Special Summon a Dragunity monster from your hand. Quirinus is a great enabler for Dragunity, especially with how it can search for Divine Lance and then equip a Tuner, bounce said Tuner back to hand, and then Special Summon that Tuner from hand. But it can also just straight-up search any Dragunity Spell/Trap either way. 3 Dragunity Remus which you can discard from your hand in order to search for a Dragon Ravine from Deck. Notably, it can also Special Summon itself back from the GY if you control a Dragunity monster, banishing it if it leaves the field, but it also Dragon-locks you for the rest of the turn from the Extra Deck. And while it is also a Tuner, it cannot be used as Synchro Material except for the Synchro Summon of a Dragunity monster. So Remus is great for searching Ravine, but it doesn’t do much in terms of providing you with extra material on board. If you still have a Dragunity in hand that you can Normal Summon on a following turn, you can Normal Summon it and then Special Summon Remus back from GY if it is there, and then you could technically go into Borrelshroud Dragon, which is a Dragon monster. While Borrelshroud cannot use its effect to negate a face-up card your opponent controls because we have no Rokkets, you can still use its other effect to Special Summon a Borrelsword Dragon from your Extra Deck at the start of the Battle Phase. It is something you can do, but with how big most of the monsters we are ending on in Prediction Princess are, along with the removal ability of cards like Laevateinn, Generaider Boss of Shadows (and Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity) and Infinitrack Earth Slicer in addition to their also really big ATK stats, you don’t need Borrelshroud and Borrelsword to go for game. So, more or less, you are never going to be bringing Remus back from GY with its own effect. 2 Dragunity Corsesca this is literally just a Level 1 Dragunity Tuner we are playing so that we can make Ib the World Chalice Justiciar with our Level 4 Dragunity monsters. If you want to play 2 Dragunity Brandistock instead, all the power to you. Or you can play 1 of each in case either of their equip effects come up, who knows. 3 Mulcharmy Purulia and 3 Droll & Lock Bird. Because of the chance that we would need to discard 1 or more cards to search off of Dragon Ravines, we can’t really play that many handtraps as they don’t do anything when discarded. And because of that, we are playing Traps that do things in GY as discard fodder.
Spell/Traps: 1 Terraforming. 3 Dragon Ravine. We aren’t sending Dragons from Deck to GY, we are adding Dragunity monsters from Deck to hand. And this does require a discard as cost as previously mentioned. Where’s Dragunity Divine Wind? Well I hate to break it to you, but that card is terrible. Unless you are playing pure Dragunity, this card functionally does nothing. If you are playing it not in a dedicated Dragunity Deck, the only way that you realistically benefit from it is by being able to activate both of its effects in sequence, which requires you to have Dragon Ravine in GY. Even though we basically have 6 copies of Ravine in this Deck, Ravine access is still not guaranteed with every hand we open, so Divine Wind is just bad in that case. In an actual Dragunity Deck, I think that this card is still just fine. It probably won’t be a godsend for the Deck since the card only has 1 effect which is a hard once per turn. If it were split into 2 different effects rather than being 1 effect that forces you to choose between 2 different effects to apply, it would be so much more useful in more situations. 1 Dragunity Divine Lance. It can only be equipped to a Dragunity monster and the effect of it that we are actually using is its effect to equip a Dragon Dragunity Tuner from your Deck to the equipped monster. This works really well with Quirinus’s effect as I explained earlier. 3 Underworld Ritual of Prediction which can Ritual Summon a Prediction Princess Ritual Monster from hand or GY face-up or face-down and you can banish it from GY during the Standby Phase to Special Summon a non-Ritual Prediction Princess monster from Deck face-down. 1 World Legacy Monstrosity which can either Special Summon a Level 9 monster from your hand or target a Level 9 monster you control to Special Summon 2 Level 9 monsters from your Deck with a different type and Attribute, but with different names. 3 Infinite Impermanence. 2 The Black Goat Laughs as discard fodder for Ravine and just a good card in general. 1 Black Cat-astrophe. Did you know that Prediction Princess had a Trap Card? Its effect that activates when you activate the set Trap Card is terrible. It ends your opponent’s Battle Phase if you control 2+ face-down Defense Position monsters. Its GY effect is more usable. You can banish it from GY and target 2 monsters on the field, including at least 1 Prediction Princess monster and change them to face-down Defense. It’s like Subterror Guru’s effect that is not its Flip Effect except that this has to be in the GY to use. But hey, Black Cat-astrophe is not a once per turn which is something I guess.
1 Elder Entity N’tss which can target and pop a card on field if sent to the GY. 1 Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys which draws you cards when it is Synchro Summoned equal to the number of non-Tuners used for its Synchro Summon. Also, you can Quick Effect discard 2 cards to target and destroy a card on the field. 1 Cloudcastle which can target a Level 9 monster in your GY on Synchro Summon and Special Summon it. If you are forced to discard a non-Ritual Level 9 monster to activate Ravine’s effect, Cloudcastle can bring it back and now you have an extra monster on field to use as additional Link Material to end on S:P Little Knight instead of Gravity Controller. 1 Ib the World Chalice Justiciar who adds a World Legacy card from Deck to hand on Synchro Summon. 1 Herald of the Arc Light which adds a Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell from Deck to hand when it is sent to GY. 1 Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis. 1 Infinitrack Earth Slicer. 2 Mereologic Aggregator. 1 Laevateinn, Generaider Boss of Shadows and 1 Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity. 1 Dyna Mondo. 1 S:P Little Knight. 1 I:P Masquerena. 1 Gravity Controller.
Side Deck: 3 Dinowrestler Pankratops, 3 Mulcharmy Purulia, 3 Dark Ruler No More, 1 Triple Tactics Talent, 1 Called by the Grave, 1 Harpie’s Feather Duster, and 3 Evenly Matched.
