Inspired by the Doomsday combo decks in Magic the Gathering, this deck uses Invincible Demise Lord to stack the deck in such a way that we can win the game with Exodia the Forbidden One, as long as an opponent has a few cards on their field, Slash Draw is in our deck, and we have access to either our Fiendsmith or Orcust combos. You can bridge from Fiendsmith to Orcust using Knightmare Mermaid, but you can't bridge the other way around, because of the Dark lock that the Orcusts have.
With Fiendsmith, summon Aerial Eater to send Archfiend Heiress to grave, adding Royal Archfiend to the hand. Activate Royal to search Archfiend's Oath and get an extra normal summon to tribute summon Demise Lord. Use Archfiend's Oath to draw the top card of your deck after stacking it with Lord. You can also use Magical Musket Mastermind Caspar to give your opponent a monster to access the Demise Lord combo more easily. Magical Musketeer Kidbrave can also help you draw cards to enable the combo. If you draw Heiress, make Fiendsmith's Lacrima instead, adding back Engraver to search Tract, Tract to search anything and discard Heiress to trigger her effect. If you draw Oath, summon The Duke of Demise instead to give you an extra normal summon.
With Orcust, summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton and set Orcustrated Return for later when you need to draw cards after stacking the deck. Summon Rahamu, Envoy of the Sacred Tome for the extra normal summon for Demise Lord. You can also use Enlilgirsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight to shuffle back Slash Draw if it's in your hand to unbrick the combo.
The gameplan is to just play the duel as normal with our standard Fiendsmith or Orcust endboards, and when we have a chance to do the combo with some way to protect it, we go for it and hope for the best. If the combo is stopped, we can pivot to just surviving for another turn until we have another chance to try again. If our combo pieces have been removed or the combo is just not possible right now, we can instead stack the deck with useful staples and backrow to try winning the game without Exodia, or get to Jar of Avarice to recycle our combo pieces and try the combo next turn. Below this point, I'll list out the most important Demise piles for you to know when playing this deck, what you need to achieve them, what interruption they play around and any other important notes. (Note: Doll Hammer can be used to start a pile combo if needed, or used as a substitute for Pot of Greed in these piles. And remember: if you already have some of the combo pieces in your hand, Demise Lord doesn't need to stack as many cards for the pile to work, or you could still use a big pile and place Ultimate Sky in there to play around cards like Bystials.)
= Demise Piles =
- Painful Choice + Backup Soldier + Dark Eruption pile = Stack Pot of Sloth , Painful Choice, Dark Eruption, Backup Soldier and Slash Draw on top of the deck in that order. Draw Pot of Sloth. Sloth draws all the other cards we stacked on top, then we have to put back 3 cards from your hand on the bottom of your deck (Slash Draw + 2 random cards in hand). Activate Painful Choice, revealing all 5 pieces of Exodia. Your opponent adds any of them to hand. Activate Dark Eruption to get the 2nd piece to hand (remember to get the effect monster piece if your opponent didn't give it to you). Then set Backup Soldier and pass the turn, activate Backup Soldier and add the last 3 Exodia pieces from your graveyard to your hand.
*Notes: Opponent must control 4 or more cards (3 if you activate Mastermind), Needs 2 or more cards in hand, loses to GY hate (Bystials, D.D. Crow, etc). Can use Graceful Charity instead of Pot of Sloth if needed. If Pot of Sloth or Pot of Greed aren't in your Deck, drawing 3 cards by doing both the Fiendsmith and Orcust combo is enough to let you do this line.
- Draw of Fate + Pot of Greed pile: Stack Pot of Sloth, Pot of Greed, Draw of Fate, Exodia Piece 1, Exodia Piece 2, and Slash Draw in that order. Draw and then activate Pot of Sloth to draw 5 cards and put back 4 cards from your hand to the bottom (Slash Draw and 3 random cards in hand). Activate Draw of Fate to stack the top of the deck with the last 3 Exodia pieces and draw 1 of them, then activate Pot of Greed to draw the last 2 pieces.
*Notes: Opponent controls 5 or more cards (4 if you activate Mastermind), Needs 3 cards in hand, needs you to have less life points than 1 opponent and not control the highest ATK monster on the field (You can crash into something in the battle phase to enable this, but makes the combo lose to battle phase interruption), loses to negates on the last pot of greed activation since Card of Fate locks you out of responding to the negate. If Pot of Greed isn't available, summon Rahamu and send 2 monsters to the bottom of the deck to draw the last 2 pieces.
- Pot of Sloth + all 5 pieces of Exodia
*Notes: Opponent controls 6 or more cards (5 if you activate Mastermind), needs 4 cards in hand, beats most interruption but you need so many cards in your hand that this should only be used if you have no other options.
- Pot of Greed + all 5 pieces of Exodia
*Notes: Backup plan if Pot of Sloth and Graceful Charity aren't available, and/or if you can't do the Draw of Fate combo. Opponent controls 6 or more cards (5 if you activated Mastermind), needs to summon Rahamu and send 2-3 monsters from your hand on the bottom of the deck on the end phase to draw the last pieces.
- Non-Exodia piles: Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, 4 staples of your choice OR: Pot of Greed, 2-3 staples of your choice. Could just stack 2-3 staples and draw into them with Orcustrated Return or Return + Oath (The more cards an opponent controls, the more staples you can add.)
*Notes: Very versatile type of Demise Pile if you can't or shouldn't try to go for the combo. Best staples to go for are either Trap Cards or Quick-Play Spell that interrupt the opponents, or boardwipes.
