The Assault Mode support out of BPRO brings Assault Lich to the game, which is a phenomenal card for both Assault Mode and Zombies in general. It is a Level 4 Tuner that can be treated as a non-Tuner when used as Synchro Material. If it is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Special Summon a monster that mentions Assault Mode Activate or 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie monster from your GY. And if it is sent to the GY as Synchro Material, you can search for a copy of either Assault Slash or Assault Counter. If we factor in their other new pieces of support in Duel Evolution - Assault Zone and Night Wing Priestess, which help with accessing other Assault Mode-related cards and the actual activation of Assault Mode Activate, we now have a Deck that can turbo out Doomkaiser Dragon/Assault Mode. If you don’t know what Doomkaiser Dragon/AM does, on Special Summon, it targets 1+ Zombie Monsters in either GY and Special Summons those targets to your field with their effects negated and they are destroyed during the End Phase of the turn. If we have Zombie World on the field, we essentially turn Doomkaiser Dragon/AM into Soul Charge from either GY which then allows us to make a bunch of high-Level Synchro Monsters for our endboard, aided by Zombie World also being on the field, as well as the potential of also having a Doomking Balerdroch as well.
The entire line is a 1-card combo that starts with either Shiranui Solitaire or Assault Sniper. While Solitaire isn’t searchable, Assault Sniper has more than a dozen ways to search it. Both cards do the same thing: they Tribute themselves to Special Summon Assault Lich from Deck (or also hand in the case of Sniper). Let’s say we start with Solitaire. Normal Summon Solitaire and activate its effect, Tributing itself to Special Summon Assault Lich from Deck. Assault Lich triggers on Special Summon to Special Summon Solitaire back from GY. Synchro Lich and Solitaire into Night Wing Priestess. On Special Summon, Night Wing Priestess sets an Assault Mode Activate from Deck. Then, you can use its other effect, discarding a card to Special Summon Psi-Reflector from Deck. Psi-Reflector triggers on Special Summon to search for Duel Evolution - Assault Zone. Activate Assault Zone and use its effect on activation to search for Crimson Blader/Assault Mode. Reveal Crimson Blader/AM in hand to activate its effect, adding Assault Mode Activate from Deck to hand, and shuffling itself back into the Deck. Activate Psi-Reflector’s other effect, revealing AMA in hand to target and Special Summon Assault Lich from GY and increasing its Level by 1, making it a Level 5 monster. Synchro Lich and Psi-Reflector into Immortal Dragon. Activate the effect of Assault Zone, paying 2000 LP to allow you to tribute a Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck when you activate AMA once this turn. Activate Immortal Dragon’s effect to send Necroworld Banshee from Deck to GY to make its Level become equal to the difference between its Level and Banshee’s Level, which turns it into a Level 2 monster. The Level 2 Immortal Dragon and the Level 8 Night Wing Priestess into Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord or Arms of Genex Return Zero in the EMZ (I will explain later). Activate Banshee’s effect in the GY, banishing her to activate Zombie World from Deck. Activate AMA, banishing Doomkaiser Dragon from your Extra Deck to Special Summon Doomkaiser Dragon/Assault Mode from your Deck in Attack Position. Doomkaiser Dragon/AM’s mandatory effect on Special Summon activates, targeting Shiranui Solitaire, Assault Lich, Immortal Dragon, and Night Wing Priestess in your GY, Special Summoning all of them with their effects negated. Synchro Assault Lich and Night Wing Priestess into Crimson Dragon. On Special Summon, Crimson Dragon adds Synchro Rumble from Deck to hand. Synchro Immortal Dragon and Solitaire into a Level 10 Synchro Monster. If you made Zombie Dragon Lord earlier, I would recommend making either Arms of Genex Return Zero or Fabled Levilazebul. If you made Arms of Genex Return Zero earlier, I would recommend making Levilazebul. Why? Well, Zombie Dragon Lord Special Summons a Zombie from your GY during your opponent’s turn. So, if you decide to make it and Return Zero, you can bring back Assault Lich which then brings back either Night Wing Priestess to immediately set an AMA from your GY and then it can provide further follow-up next turn, or you can bring back Psi-Reflector to immediately search a card and then have follow-up next turn also. But, I would rather make Zombie Dragon Lord and Levilazebul because Levilazebul’s effect to Quick Effect tribute a Fabeled monster to take control of an opponent’s monster is a soft once per turn, so Zombie Dragon Lord can immediately bring it back for the chance to take control of another monster. But, if you make Return Zero, I would highly recommend making Levilazebull because once you use its effect, it is a LIGHT in GY for Return Zero to banish because you go through no other LIGHT monsters in this Deck. Going back to the combo, you can now activate Synchro Rumble targeting and Special Summon Assault Lich back from the GY, and then you can Synchro Assault Lich and Doomkaiser Dragon/AM into Snake-Eyes Vengeance Dragon. Activate Crimson Dragon’s effect targeting Vengeance Dragon, returning itself to Extra Deck, and Special Summoning Cosmic Blazar Dragon from Extra Deck. Set the AMA in your hand just so that it can be activatable on your next turn as follow-up if you do not plan on Special Summoning Night Wing Priestess from GY. So, what do we have? We have Cosmic Blazar Dragon, Snake-Eyes Vengeance Dragon, and any 2 of Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord, Arms of Genex Return Zero, or Fabled Levilazebul, and also Zombie World in the Field Zone. If we drew Zombie World, we could’ve sent Doomking Balerdroch from Deck to GY with Immortal Dragon instead (and still make it a Level 2) and just activate Zombie World from hand manually with Doomking Special Summoning itself from GY during the Standby Phase. If we drew Banshee, we could just discard her for the effect of Night Wing Priestess and then send Doomking with Immortal Dragon for the same results. Drawing Doomking and discarding it for Night Wing Priestess also works.
Main Deck: 2 Crimson Blader/Assault Mode and 2 Doomkaiser Dragon/Assault Mode. They both MUST be Special Summoned with Assault Mode Activate and cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This also means that you cannot Special Summon them with AMA and then bring them back from GY. Crimson Blader/AM can reveal itself in hand to add an AMA or a card that mentions it from Deck to hand and then you shuffle Crimson Blader/AM back into the Deck. While it is on field, it also prevents your opponent from activating the effects of Level 5 or higher monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. Why are we only playing 2 copies of this card? Well, it’s because I want to play Terraforming to have an increased chance of having a way to Zombie World in hand, which would mean that we’d be able to have Doomking Balerdroch as a part of our board. I don’t want to go too overboard on cards in the Main Deck because there are like 10 other cards that I want to also play in the Deck, but I don’t want to be playing 50 or 60 cards. You probably could, but those other cards that I want to add are non-engine, not engine, so we’d be reducing consistency if we were to play the additional cards I wanted to play. Doomkaiser Dragon/AM targets 1+ Zombie monsters in either GY and Special Summons them to your field with their effects negated and they are also destroyed during the End Phase of the turn. This effect IS mandatory, but it is why we are even playing it in the first place. 2 copies because AMA only Special Summons from Deck, which means the Deck is just dead if you are playing Doomkaiser Dragon/AM at 1 and you draw the 1 copy. 1 Doomking Balerdroch. During the Standby Phase, if there is a face-up card in a Field Zone, you can Special Summon it from GY in Defense. Once per chain, when a Zombie monster other than a Doomking Balerdroch activates its effects, you can Quick Effect either negate that effect or banish a monster from field or GY, but you can only apply each of these effects once per turn. Doomking is an absolutely incredible Zombie monster that is limited by the fact that its full potential is only realized if Zombie World is face-up on the field. But 2 pieces of interaction on a recurring body is very good. 3 Shiranui Solitaire can Tribute a Zombie monster to Special Summon a Zombie Tuner with 0 DEF from your Deck. Assault Lich has 0 DEF, so this is why we are even playing it. 1 Necroworld Banshee. You can Quick Effect banish her from field or GY to activate a Zombie World from hand or Deck. Very good card. 2 Assault Lich, which I already explained, but we really only need 2 copies because we are getting it out of the Deck via Solitaire or Sniper anyways. If we open a copy, it will remain in your hand to act as follow-up on your next turn if anything. 3 Assault Sniper. We are really only using it for its first effect. You can Tribute it to Special Summon a monster from hand or Deck that mentions AMA except for another Assault Sniper, but you are Synchro-locked from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. Of course, this gets you to Assault Lich as previously explained. Its second effect to target a monster you control to reveal a Synchro Monster in Extra Deck to make that monster’s Type and Attribute the same as the revealed monster’s was made for revealing Doomkaiser Dragon, Arcanite Magician, and Hyper Psychic Blaster because they need specific non-Tuner monster types. But because of how the new Assault Mode support works, this is unneeded. 2 Psi-Reflector which adds an AMA or a card that mentions it from Deck to hand on Normal or Special Summon. You can also reveal an AMA in hand to target a monster in your GY that mentions AMA except for another Psi-Reflector and then Special Summon it and then you MUST increase that monster’s Level by up to 4. Psi-Reflector is not a starter in this Deck, so we don’t need to max out on it. For handtraps, we have 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos, 3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, 3 Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, and 3 Droll & Lock Bird.
For Spell/Traps: 1 Synchro Rumble. This card targets a Tuner or a Level 7 or 8 Dragon Synchro monster in your GY and Special Summons it in Defense Position, but it does lock you into Synchro Monsters from the Extra Deck which is not an issue for us. This card is always only targeting a Tuner because the time in which we activate this card is after us activating Zombie World. So even if we have Level 7 or 8 Dragon Synchro Monsters in the GY, they are Zombies now. 3 Fire Formation - Tenki. This searches for Assault Sniper. 1 Terraforming. I am electing to play Terraforming over the third copy of Zombie World because I would at least like a choice of searching either Assault Zone or Zombie World based on the current situation. 3 Duel Evolution - Assault Zone. This card adds a monster that mentions Assault Mode Activate from Deck or GY on activation. It does also prevent your /Assault Mode monsters from being destroyed by battle or your opponent’s card effects the turn they are Special Summoned, but it’s not like we are using this effect in the context of this Deck. Also, you can pay 2000 LP to allow you to, once this turn, activate Assault Mode Activate by Tributing a Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. As much as I wish that this effect was activatable during the opponent’s turn, it would be a little silly if we could just Assault Zone and then AMA Tributing either Stardust Dragon or T.G. Halberd Cannon from our Extra Deck for their /Assault Mode forms during the opponent’s turn. 2 Zombie World. This card turns every monster on field and in GY into Zombies and it prevents both players from Tribute Summoning monsters except for Zombie monsters. 1 Called by the Grave. 2 Assault Mode Activate. If you don’t like the idea of Synchro Rumble, you can instead play a copy of Assault Counter which is an omni-negate Counter Trap that requires you to control an /Assault Mode monster. This is searchable in-combo by Assault Lich, and it is viable as without Synchro Rumble, Doomkaiser Dragon/AM will remain on field for Assault Counter to be live. But, you will need a Level 10 Dragon Synchro for Crimson Dragon to Summon, which I would recommend either Bystial Dis Pater or Majestic Star Dragon.
Extra Deck: 1 Crimson Dragon, which adds a card that mentions it from Deck to hand on Special Summon and you can also Quick Effect target a Synchro Monster you control other than itself to return Crimson Dragon to the Extra Deck and Special Summon a Dragon Synchro Monster with the same Level as the targeted monster from your Extra Deck and this is treated as a Synchro summon. 1 Cosmic Blazar Dragon. You can Quick Effect banish it until the End Phase to activate 1 of its 3 effects: it can negate and destroy your opponent’s activated card or effect, it can negate and destroy the Summon of your opponent’s monster(s), or it can negate an opponent’s attack and then end the Battle Phase. 1 Snake-Eyes Vengeance Dragon which can, during the Main Phase, Quick Effect target a face-up monster on the field or in either GY and place it in its owner’s S/T Zone as a Continuous Spell, but Vengeance Dragon cannot use this effect next turn. And during the Battle Phase, you can Quick Effect target a monster and 1 Continuous Spell on the field and destroy them. 1 Chaos Angel which requires LIGHT or DARK non-Tuners as material and for its Synchro Summon, it can treat a LIGHT or DARK monster you control as a Tuner. On Special Summon, you can target and banish a card on field. Also, if it uses a LIGHT monster as material, Synchro Monsters you control are unaffected by your opponent’s activated monster effects. If it uses a DARK monster as material, monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. I do wish we could make this card as a part of our endboard, especially for the protection, but since we do not have any LIGHT monsters that can be used to make this card, it is better as follow-up removal than as a part of our endboard. 1 Arms of Genex Return Zero. If your opponent activates a monster effect, you can Quick Effect banish a monster from your GY with the same Attribute to negate the activation and destroy that monster, but you can only banish each Attribute once per turn for this effect. Return Zero is both good and bad. In the right situations, it is good, and in the wrong situations, it is not the most optimal card to be playing. So why are we even playing this card? Well, it’s because there aren’t many good Level 10 Synchros that we can actually make and benefit off of during the opponent’s turn. Dis Pater requires Dragon non-Tuners, which isn’t something we can do because of Zombie World and it is not like we can actually even make it in the first place considering the Dragons we are playing. We can make Black-Winged Assault Dragon, but at the same time, it does pop your field as well. While we can remedy this by also making the Level 10 Synchro Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying, once we destroy the whole field and banish a card to protect Chengying from being destroyed, what are we then banishing with Chengying’s other effect is we can’t banish a card from our opponent’s field and GY at the same time. But even without Black-Winged Assault Dragon, the closest thing to banishing a card to trigger Chengying that we have is Blazar banishing itself to activate its effect, which may or may not be the most ideal time to also trigger Chengying. Commander Souza, Swordmaster is a reactive pop on a Level 10 Synchro we can make, but we would have to be doing our combo with Assault Sniper instead of Solitaire because Souza needs non-Tuner EARTHs. But still, compared to Return Zero, Return Zero still has the greater potential. Besides, we are playing 1 Fabled Levilazebul which can Quick Effect Tribute any number of Fabled monsters (i.e. itself) and take control of that many face-up monsters your opponent controls during the Main Phase, but those monsters have their effects negated. Levilazebul Tributing itself does put a LIGHT into your GY for Return Zero, which is good, but it is also a soft once per turn, which means that you can bring it back with the Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord that we are playing to use its effect again. Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord requires a Zombie Tuner and 1+ non-Tuners. It can Quick Effect target and Special Summon a Zombie monster from your GY during your opponent’s turn and if it is in the GY, you can banish a Zombie you control to Special Summon it back from GY. Not the most powerful card under general situations, but given that we are making everything into a Zombie with Zombie World, this card gets much better. 1 Draco Berserker of the Tenyi. This card, when your opponent activates a monster effect, Quick Effect banish that monster. And if it destroys an Effect Monster by battle and sends it to GY, it gains ATK equal to that monster’s original ATK and then it can make a second attack on a monster during the same Battle Phase. This card is just a good Level 8 Synchro Monster to make as follow-up to go for game. 1 Night Wing Priestess which sets an AMA from your hand, Deck, or GY on Special Summon and it can be activated this turn. You can also discard a card to either add a monster that mentions AMA from Deck to hand or Special Summon that monster from Deck, but you are Synchro-locked from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. Night Wing Priestess is just an incredible card for Assault Mode as it is basically the card that facilitates the entire Decks once it is Summoned. 1 Crimson Blader because we can technically Tribute it from the Extra Deck for its /Assault Mode form as follow-up for extra damage. 2 Doomkaiser Dragon. On our following turn, we can do some Link plays because we are no longer Synchro-locked, and that gives us a chance to make a second Doomkaiser Dragon/AM to bring everything back to attack for game. 1 S:P Little Knight. 1 Flying Mary, the Wandering Ghost Ship which requires 2 Zombies as material. It can target a Level 5 or higher Zombie that is banished or in GY and place itself into the S/T Zone as a face-up Continuous Spell and then Special Summon the targeted monster. While it is a Continuous Spell, you can target a Level 5 or higher Zombie you control and destroy 1 monster your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to that monster’s ATK. Also, if you are playing Assault Counter, I would recommend playing either Bystial Dis Pater or Majestic Star Dragon in the Extra Deck also.
Side Deck: 3 Nibiru, the Primal Being, 3 Mulcharmy Purulia, 1 Triple Tactics Talent, 1 Harpie’s Feather Duster, 3 Dark Ruler No More, 2 The Black Goat Laughs, 1 Anti-Spell Fragrance, and 1 Solemn Judgment.
