Deck Master: Ghostrick Jiangshi
Play peek-a-boo with a horde of chibi monsters! This deck focuses on controlling the board and building a pillow fort of spells and traps to protect your spooky dudes as they gradually eat away at your opponent's through direct damage. My personal build uses a custom card I made called Ghostrick Little Sistein in place of Number 96: Dark Mist - who threatens to return an opponent's card to the hand unless they give her a small treat of 500 LP, up to twice per turn. Tao monsters use monsters and spells/traps as material, with Sistein requiring exclusively Ghostrick cards. Tao (the yin-yang symbols) are treated as levels and ranks simultaneously, and any effect that would effect those without specifying Xyz monsters or specific monster card type will affect them as well. They don't double up the effect of something like "monsters you control gain/lose 100 ATK/DEF times their Level/Rank"; it's just the single buff/nerf, like any other monster. She helps to unclog your backrow, given this deck runs a ton of spells and traps.
I'm unsure of the rules on setting your Deck Master, so at the moment I'm leaning on the safe side and just summoning Jiangshi normally and flipping it face-down with its effect. Ghostricks are one of my all-time favorite archetypes. The flavor of all the monsters and the mischievous peek-a-boo games are chef's kiss.
