This is my personal favourite Altergeist decklist following the new support released in 2023. Subject to change. I usually prefer not to add side decks to my uploaded decks, but in this case the side is generic enough that I'll include it. Of course feel free to remove and add cards as you see necessary.
The new support for this deck in incredible to me, mainly the addition of Altergeist Malwisp and Altergeist Adminia. These 2 cards combined let this deck have some real combo potential and branch from the realm of a set-5 deck. Malwisp is an amazing combo extender, getting 2 more bodies on your board for free when it is added (usually from Altergeist Meluseek), and Adminia gives the deck a link-4 interruption to end on at the end of combos.
2 other options to add to the deck are Altergeist Perinetrator and Altergeist Revitalization. Perinetrator, when sent to the graveyard, can send Revitalization, which allows you to gain an extra normal summon. While this is a very powerful effect, most combo lines do not utilise it (or at least not need it), and the niche capabilities do not outweigh the risk of bricking on either of these 2 cards. This may be subject to change if new uses are found for these cards, but so far I have not found a reason to include them.
Another amazing benefit of Malwisp is that she's a tuner. This allows for interesting synchro plays, which is why I included Herald of the Arc Light and the previously useless Altergeist Dragvirion. Dragvirion will summon herself back after being tributed by any of the link monsters, allowing for easy double negates with Altergeist Hexstia and an enourmous attack boost from Altergeist Memorygant.
The generic traps in the side and main deck are very interchangable depending on playstyle and current format. An example is playing Evenly Matched in the main deck. This could easily be switched with Solemn Judgment or another trap you enjoy playing such as Torrential Tribute.
The new support makes this deck incredibly fun, and I recommend anyone to try out this deck.
