Okay, so this is a deck that my circle says is okay to run, so I am running 3, count em, 3 branded fusion. I'll explain why. This is a deck I love, I don't have access to the azamina cards and Chimera, Fiendsmith, Azamina is a huge combo pile that I don't wanna play for fun, this is a more resource cycle-y build thats lower to the ground. Why show this to the world then? Because I have played it too much and know this deck better than decks I am taking to tourneys and it is a lot of fun. Basically, I gotta vent.
So, the basic premis behind Branded in Chimera is Rindbrumm. Thats what starts the whole engine by dumping Gazelle and activating its grave effect, adding coatl. The deck has around 15 starters if you consider Gazelle which I really shouldn't, but you can sometimes just add the fusion spell and make Berfomet. The addition of Branded Fusion is what makes the deck hyper consistent. Chimera is usually a 16 card main which may even go down to 14 so we usually add cards like fiendsmith or Nightmare apprentice to make it more consistent. But in this build we run branded as the sub engine as well as nightmare apprentice. You can swap apprentice out for a frightfur package similar to what they run in branded proper, but we dont need to do that in this build as it can suck to draw poly and chain.
So here is the main combo: Branded fusion dumping Gazelle and Albaz for Rindbrumm. Gazelle add Coatl. Coatl discard to add Mirrorswords Knight. Summon and activate Mirrorswords Knight to tribute itself, summoning Berfomet. Berfomet add Chimera Fusion and Gazelle. Fusion for Berfomet or Chimera. Activate either Berfomet (fusion) or Chimera, Berfomet (main deck guy), and Chimera fusion. Set Chimera fusion. Berfomet summoning back a guy will allow us to use them for the Guardian Chimera and then they can activate their grave effect later to negate, Rindbrumm negates an extra deck card, and Chimera hand rips and Berf sits there. If you make Berf you can pitch then us main deck berf to summon Diabellze. A weird anti-spell on legs.
So talking about the numbers, 3 fusion, 1 albaz is strange, but you will almost always be making a Rindbrumm which can cycle albaz. This can also make for a very funny play where you Rindbrumm, cycle albaz onto your field, activate super poly, and fuse their board off for Mirrorjade. Hilarious. Edge Imp package is listed below, generally you can get to it by sending the Chain off of a summon of Berf or off of Branded fusion, grab Patchwork, Patchwork for chain and Poly. If you just draw into Patchwork then Patchwork, Chain and Poly, Chain gets sent at some point for a fusion then add second patchwork. The main power behind this is the ability to shuffle back poly off of the Magnum in extra so its easy to activate a second one if you are running a third chain. I also have some secondary Poly targets in the side deck for suggestions. Khaos can aide in recycling Albaz if you go into Lubellion or Albion, Garura is good. Duke of Demise is a funny target for superpoly if you are facing a fiend deck like live-twin. second normal could be huge for this deck. Like normal swordsknight... and gazelle! On the real he is a cool card for weird game states where you were hit with hand traps. Like a better Cross sheep but requires a poly of some sort. Lot of 6s in the deck so cards like ceasar, beast, and lars are good options, but definitely fit better in the fiendsmith variant. Cowboy is the 15th card, Belle is the 40th. Maybe swap garura and Muddragon if you are playing the 6s.
Generally, the more you play this deck the cooler it seems and the more lines you see just by nature of being a fairly open ended fusion deck.
