What happens when Bystials are relevant in the meta, and a critical mass of handtraps are mandatory to actually play Yugioh? You get this 20+ handtrap monstrosity capable of turboing out Bystial Dis Pater, Chaos Angel and best of all, Light and Darkness Dragonlord!
Functioning as a midrange-aggro deck with a robust resource grindgame, Horus Bystial kind of reminds me of Dragonlink except with more Synchro boss monsters and less combo steps! Ever since this interesting strategy's inception and evolution throughout this year, I wanted to give the deck another try after the September 2 TCG banlist because I have a soft spot for unique aggro decks with a "control then OTK" playstyle.
Hardcounter Yubel, Fiendsmith variants, I:P Masquerena and more as you throw a metric ton of Bystials at your opponent!

ARCHETYPES AND DECKBUILDING
A sizeable BYSTIAL core is in this deck, responsible for a large portion of control and to provide bodies to synchro and link summon. 3 Lubellion and 3 Saronir are included to maximize consistency. 1 Magnamhut, 3 Druiswurm and 1 Baldrake are included for their utility. 1 Branded Regained and 1 Branded Beast are maindecked to provide more resources, board presence and control. In the side deck, 1 Etude of the Branded is present since it's a searchable floodgate (Banish for all your opponent's monster summon materials) that can quick-synchro your monsters during your opponent's turn. Bystial Dis Pater in the Extra deck is very accessible in this deck, and can loop combo pieces by recycling them from banished to the field.
A small CHAOS DRAGON package is included, composed of 3 Black Metal Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, 1 Chaos Dragon Levianeer and 1 Chaos Space. Chaos Space can either search Lubellion or Levianeer depending on the attribute you discard for its cost.
COMBOS AND GAMEPLAN
Horus Bystial is a fairly simple deck to pilot since it doesn't have a singular straightforward combo. Summon as many monsters you can to field, gather as much resources as possible, control your opponent and then OTK on turn 3!
Going first, your optimal board will end on a mixture of Hieratic Seals, Branded Regained, and perhaps Bystial Dis Pater and/or Chaos Angel. The board's cherry on top will be Light and Darkness Dragonlord, with a whopping 3 negates! Also, your hand will likely feature a ton of handtraps.
Going second, your opponent's gamestate will likely be simplified by your 20+ handtraps in the deck, and Bystials can beat over the tiny monsters on your opponent's board.
Depending on what is in your hand and what you mill, you'll end on Bystial cards on hand and field + Synchro boss monsters, Hieratic Seals and if you have extenders, S:P Little Knight.
Black Metal Dragon is the main normal summon of the deck, representing a Hieratic Seals (Normal Black Metal -> link away for Striker Dragon -> Search Red-Eyes Darkness -> Red-Eyes Darkness summons itself by banishing Striker Dragon -> Red-Eyes Darkness summons Black Metal from GY -> Link away both Dragons for Hieratic Seals).
Starliege Seyfert is also another incredible normal summon in the deck, allowing you to search for any Dragon that you need in exchange for discarding a dragon of the same level. Search, Lubellion (for Bystial line), Dark End Evaporation Dragon (for Light and Darkness Dragonlord) and more!
To make Light and Darkness Dragonlord, you first need to have access to Bystial Lubellion either on the field or hand, then get Dark End Evaporation Dragon to fulfill the fusion materials. Once Dark End is summoned, fusion summon so that you get 4 negates!
GENERAL TIPS
Chaos Angel made with any level 6 Bystial (Dark) and the level 4 Starliege Seyfert (Light) is very hard to out for most opponents since it inherits both of its attribute dependant effects! With both light and dark, Chaos Angel is a nigh unstoppable juggernaut on the field.
If you get Shifter'd, try to end on defense position Chaos Angel. Sometimes, your opponent simply can't deal with an unaffected unkillable monster, giving you time to outlast Shifter's two turn lingering banish effect.
Branded Regained is an incredible card for Chaos decks, especially Bystial Control! Establish it as soon as possible.
- If you're trading one interruption with 1 of your opponent's cards, you're usually ahead in resources.

CONCLUDING REMARKS
It turns out that throwing 20+ handtraps at your opponent while maintaining a consistent playstyle is pretty good this format! Bystials counter common meta threats like Yubel, Fiendsmith, I:P Masquerena and more! The amount of advantage Branded Regained, Bystial Dis Pater, Magnumhut generate is incredible, and your opponent may soon find that they will drown from the amount of stuff you have! Also, it's really cool summoning Light and Darkness Dragonlord and actually using it competitively!
