This is my Pure Red-Eyes Deck I've been inventing for some time now, it does NOT include Dragoon or any cards considered unfair and in need to be banned to any player, nor does it contain any Rokket support stratedgies (the Striker Dragon is only for summoning Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and nothing more). I'll show you here some tips on how to play it and what strats can allow you to win:
1. "Darkness Metal and the Trains" - This strat consists of summong double Darkness Metal dragons and overlaying into Superdreadnought Railcannon Gustav Max, then burning for 2000 before going into Superdreadnought Juggernaut Liebe to add an enormous beatstick to your field if you need to get rid of anything with 3000 or more ATK via battle (Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack can destroy anything via card effect, but it does target). Using Black Stone Of Legend is a suggested solution to beginning this strat, summoning your first Darkness Metal straight from the Deck, another way to summon Darkness Metal easily is by simply having Black Metal Dragon in your hand. Normal or Special Summon the Black Metal Dragon and then Link 1 into Striker Dragon, Metal will add Darkness Metal Dragon, banish the Striker and you now have a Darkness Metal on the field. You will find that it is easier than you'd think to summon double Darkness Metal, once you complete this board, summon Railcannon, burn for 2000, summon Juggernaut, make a 4000-6000 beatstick.
2. Ultimate Alternative Dragon Burn - This burn strat is rare to pull off, because the opponent must trigger the oppurtunity. This tactic will win you the game easily, but again it is rare to pull off. Once Red-Eyes Alternative Dragon is destroyed by your opponent, you can special summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon from your GY, doubling its original ATK, meaning that next turn you can use double Inferno Fire Blast or Red-Eyes Soul, easily searchable, and burn for 8800, which is more than game (You can use Flare Metal's Quick Effect to summon Red-Eyes Soul and then use Soul's Quick Effect to burn if you want to burn the opponent immediatley after summoning the buffed Red-Eyes Black Dragon).
3. Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon - Beast Eyes Pendulum Dragon is an underrated card in my opinion, and makes a great edition to Red-Eyes. Easily summoned, great stats and a powerful burn effect, you can Fusion summon this card by using a beast monster and any dark monster, the beast being your Danger! Dogman! (or Bigfoot! if you want to add it). On the field, whenever it destroys a monster by battle it will deal 2400 burn damage (with Dogman! as material) with the additional battle damage. Piercing The Darkness will add an extra 3000 burn.
4. Odd-Eyes Package - This deck can summon out of a trio of deadly Odd-Eyes boss monsters, these include Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon, Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon and Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Overlord. You can XYZ summon these dragons by using two level 7 monsters, but if you want their effects that make themselves relevant for the deck, you need a level 7 and a rank 7 monster. The rank 7 will most of the time end up being Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon, as it can summon the level 7 material needed from the GY. Each variation of Odd-Eyes will help with OTK'ing your opponent in different ways. Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon can wipe ALL cards your opponent controls and gain 200 ATK for each destroyed (not permanent) and attack twice. Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon will destroy all level 7 or lower monsters the opponent controls, then burn for 1000 for each destroyed, then can attack three times that turn. Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Overlord simply can attack three times. The reason you won't immediatley go for Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon every time is because it doesn't board wipe, it only destroys a certain amount of monsters, wheras Raging will do a complete board wipe of your opponent. You have to choose which Odd-Eyes to summon wisely, and make sure which one will be more of use in your situation.
5. Piercing The Darkness Is OP - Yes, it really is. If you want, you can make this card go to 3, its that good. For starters, every time you summon a Normal monster, in this case Red-Eyes Black Dragon, you can draw 1 card, not once per turn. This effect helps with EVERY tactic in this deck, allowing you to expand on stratedgies and summon more and more boss monsters, whether it be Flare Metals or Odd-Eyes. The next effect Piercing The Darkness has is that every monster that is a Normal monster (Red-Eyes Black Dragon), or was Fusion, XYZ, Synchro, Ritual or Link summoned using a Normal monster (Red-Eyes Black Dragon) as material will gain ATK equal to any opponents monster in battle with it. This means if a Red-Eyes Black Dragon or monster with Red-Eyes Black Dragon as material battles a monster, it gains the ATK of the opponents monster. This makes certain monsters immune to battle.
6. Red-Eyes Flare Metal Burn - One of the most common startedgies for the Red-Eyes archetype, burning with Flare Metal is easy and efficient, all you do is summon two level 7 monsters, overlay into Flare and let him do his thing. It's suggested to try and summon two Flare Metal's on the first turn (or three if possible), as it will burn your opponent for 1000 every time they activate an effect, but 500 is fine too. You will find that your opponent will be able to negate, banish or shuffle the Flare away in a shocking amount of time, so don't only rely on this one card to win you game. When Flare is about to be executed, it is the perfect time to activate his Quick Effect and summon a Red-Eyes from the GY, this could potentially save you.
7. Extra Monsters - This deck contains a few extra level 7 monsters that will help you XYZ summon some powerful boss monsters. The first non Red-Eyes monster is Tenyi Spirit Vishuda, being a double in this deck. It can summon itself if you have no monsters or only a Normal monster on your field, making an easy summon that can build towards your first XYZ. It also has a nice send to hand effect in the GY or hand. The next is Gizmek Uka, The Festive Fox of Fecundity, it can be summoned when either play summons a monster from the deck, this effect is combo'd well with Black Stone Of Legend. Once on the field, if your opponent has a dark monster on the field, you can summon a monster from your deck with the same attribute (Dark) and with ATK and DEF equalling itself, which is either a copy of Black Stone Of Legend or Black Metal Dragon, and you can summon it for free! Uka also acts as a mini Flare Metal, inflcting 300 to the opponent for each Normal or Special Summon your opponent commits. Danger! Dogman! is a great card for the deck too, it can discard a random card to summon itself, also letting you draw in the process, and then summons itself as a level 7 body. While being a great material for an XYZ, it can also be used as material for Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
Deck Pros:
It is fun to play
Can burn easily, it is likely you will end your first turn with the opponent below 6000 or 4000 LP
Lots of variations of XYZ monsters for Level 7 materials
Almost gauranteed a fun duel with the opponent (as long as the opponent isn't playing a ridiculous lockdown)
Deck Cons:
Can be easily negated, opponent will most likely Ash Blossom Black Stone Of Legend
High ATK monsters are difficult to get rid of if you cannot afford to summon Juggernaut or manage to summon Dracossack
Lockdowns are a heavy enemy for the deck, especially if they lock out the GY
You NEED Red-Eyes cards in your GY, or it will be hard to stand a chance
Keep in mind that this deck may be able to challenge meta decks, but that doesn't mean it will win every round, the most wins I've gotten out of this deck in a day at locals was 5-8 duels, every other time I've gotten about 3-8. It doesn't sound promising, but what it does promise is a fun, smileable round with anybody who isn't looking to play Kashtira just to make you miserable.
I'm sure you will be confused as to why I do not play Meteor Black Comet Dragon or Red-Eyes Fusion, and this is why: Red-Eyes Fusion restricts you SO MUCH that you cannot make a board stronger than Comet Dragon and wiping half of the opponents LP. This in some cases can work, but very rarely. Unless you are doing a Comet FTK deck, Comet Dragon is not a good card to play in locals or tournaments. Comet cannot protect himself, only standing as a 3500 beatstick and nothing more after dealing over 4000 damage. 4000 damage sounds good on paper, but once that is the only thing you've done that turn, it can end up being a death sentence if your opponent is playing something incredibly powerful, which in most cases nowadays they are. You are much better off replacing Fusion for anything else and opening up many different tactics, because Comet will blind you to only summon that and nothing else. This is only my opinion, if you think Comet is better in this deck, I won't try to stop you, but keep in mind that Red-Eyes can play so much more startedgies than just Comet.
