ARCHETYPES AND DECKBUILDING
Three archetypes combine together to form SBS.
The Spright cards form the main body and strategy of this deck being essential pieces to make Chaos Ruler -> Level 10 Synchros, then proceeding to full Spright combo with negates and follow-up. Spright Elf can also re-summon Assault Synchron from GY, allowing you to make another level 10 synchro with it, or go further into your Spright line since its a level 2.
The Bystial cards function simultaneously as handtraps, beatsticks and level 6/8 bodies to synchro with! Any Bystial + level 2 tuner now makes your level 10 synchro of choice due to Accel Stardust Dragon!
The last type of cards in this deck are the Synchrons AKA level 2 tuners. Assault Synchron is a key piece in the strategy, and seeing this card (either by drawing it, Tuning's search or milling it) is integral to the gameplan. Blackwing Sharnga and Psy-Frame Gear Gamma also are alternative level 2 tuners that summon themselves for free, enabling synchro plays and Spright special summons. Shinobi Necro is a garnet to be sent to the GY by Spright Sprind so it can be banished in the GY - summoning itself from the banished pile.
Despite the three archetypes in this deck, SBS has room for 12 generic cards! Called By and Crossout are used to counter the inevitable "handtrap wars" that you'll experience on ladder. Maxx C and Ash Blossom are basically mandatory to play in high level ladder, so they're included. The Psy-Frame Package also functions as a counter to handtraps, since many effects in this strategy occur in the hand without summoning a monster, effectively baiting out a response from your opponent so you can "Gamma" them. One Gamma that resolves also gives you a free level 10 synchro when coupled with Accel Stardust! x2 Emergency Teleport is included in the Psy-Frame package so you can get a free level 2 tuner on field so synchro/Spright plays are available.
COMBOS AND GAMEPLAN
The strategy of SBS is to summon powerful boss monsters and control your opponent's plays with negates/interruption. Baronne, Chengying, Full Armor Master and Avramax are all heavy hitters that end games pretty fast. The hard part is comboing to get to your boss monsters! This deck isn't linear especially due to how random Chaos Ruler's mills are. The combos/endboard vary greatly depending on what cards you draw and mill in your strategy.
Basically, you turbo out Chaos Ruler either by using Bystial + level 2 tuner, or through Spright + level 2 tuner and you go from there. Depending on your mills, you get endboards of differing strength, but generally they have 1-2 level 10 synchros, Spright negate board with Elf, I:P Masquerena and a hand full of handtraps/follow-up.
Here are the combos of this deck to summon Chaos Ruler:
Assault Synchron + Spright Blue = Chaos Ruler + Caligo Crow
- Special Summon Assault Synchron with it's own effect.
- Special Summon Spright Blue. Search Spright Jet.
- Special Summon Spright Jet. Search Spright Starter.
- Synchro summon Cupid Pitch using Spright Blue + Assault Synchron. Increase Cupid Pitch's level to 6.
- Synchro summon Chaos Ruler using Cupid Pitch + Spright Jet.
- CL1 Chaos Ruler to add 1 light/dark and mill 4 cards, CL2 Cupid Pitch to search for Caligo Claw Crow (Level 2 extender for Spright plays).
Level 6 Bystial + level 2 tuner = Chaos Ruler
- Special summon your Level 6 Bystial by banishing a light/dark from either grave.
- Summon your Level 2 tuner (Assault Synchron, Gamma, Sharnga, Shinobi)
- Synchro summon Accel Stardust Dragon using your Level 6 Bystial + Level 2 Tuner.
- Activate Accel Stardust Dragon's effect to summon your Level 2 Tuner from GY.
- Synchro summon Chaos Ruler using Accel Stardust Dragon + Level 2 Tuner. Chaos Ruler's effect adds 1 light/dark and mill 4 cards.
After summoning Chaos Ruler - depending on your hand, mills and searches, you can summon multiple level 10 synchros before locking yourself into level 2s by doing the full Spright combo. Full Spright combo is achieved by either hard drawing Spright Blue/Jet/Starter, or summoning two level 2/link-2 monsters to make Gigantic Spright.
To learn all the nuances of this deck, I advise that you will have to keep experimenting and practicing with the combos and starting hands. The lack of linear combo lines in this deck after summoning Chaos Ruler make it difficult to create a guide for it, since not one straightforward combo exists due to the randomness of mills and the starting hand's playstarters and extenders.
After all your efforts, you should have an enboard with a mix of level 10 synchros, I:P Masquerena and Spright Elf with Spright Red/Carrot! You may even have Branded Beast + Regained in your backrow, providing extra utility and resources with your Bystial cards.
