Power: Low Rogue (6.9/10) - This is much stronger than a pure Metalzoa deck, but it stays Low Rogue because Zoa, Metalzoa, and Metalmorph are still slower identity cards rather than a modern competitive engine. The Ancient Gear and Train shell gives the deck real OTK pressure, while the Keith package keeps the theme visible.
Consistency: Medium. Ancient Gear Wyvern, Ancient Gear Catapult, Geartown, Ancient Gear Fortress, Terraforming, and Ancient Gear Ballista give the deck several ways to start playing. Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede, Heavy Freight Train Derricrane, Bullet Train, Urgent Schedule, and Machina Fortress add Machine bodies and Rank 10 access. The trade-off is that Metalzoa, Zoa, Metalmorph, and the larger Ancient Gear monsters can still create clunky hands.
Ceiling: High for a Low Rogue theme deck. Chaos Ancient Gear Giant, Power Bond, Overload Fusion, Ancient Gear Fusion, Limiter Removal, Gustav Max into Juggernaut Liebe, and Borrelsword Dragon can all end games quickly. Ballista also gives the deck a strong damage line by searching Geartown and reducing an opposing monster to 0 ATK.
Recovery: Medium. Ancient Gear Fortress and Geartown help convert destroyed cards into more Machines, Super Express Bullet Train can recover follow-up, and Machina Fortress gives the deck a discard outlet that can come back. The deck can rebuild after one exchange, but if the first push loses Geartown, Catapult, or its fusion spells without resolving, it can run out of clean pressure.
Going first/second: Best going second. The deck wants to break a board, force through Geartown or Catapult, and turn large Machines into lethal damage. Going first, it can make slower setups with Ancient Gear Howitzer, Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora, or Ancient Gear Fortress protection, but it is not a dedicated control deck. Going second, the side deck brings Dark Ruler No More, Evenly Matched, Nibiru, Twin Twisters, Droll & Lock Bird, and Harpie's Feather Duster.
Choke points: Stop Ancient Gear Wyvern before it searches, negate Ancient Gear Catapult, remove Geartown before it can be destroyed profitably, or interrupt Ancient Gear Ballista before it turns the hand into a full push. Hitting Power Bond, Ancient Gear Fusion, Overload Fusion, or Flying Pegasus can also stop the OTK turn from converting into damage.
Key cards: Metalzoa, Zoa, Metalmorph, Ancient Gear Wyvern, Ancient Gear Catapult, Geartown, Ancient Gear Fortress, Ancient Gear Ballista, Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon, Ancient Gear Fusion, Power Bond, Heavy Freight Train Derricrane, Super Express Bullet Train, Gustav Max, Juggernaut Liebe.
Key combos: Catapult destroys Geartown to summon Ancient Gear bodies and trigger Geartown at the same time. Ballista searches Geartown, then can destroy one of your own cards to make an opposing monster 0 ATK and open an OTK. Hunting Hound, Power Bond, Ancient Gear Fusion, or Overload Fusion turn the Machine pile into Chaos Ancient Gear Giant. Flying Pegasus plus a Level 10 Machine makes Gustav Max, which can burn for 2000 and then overlay into Juggernaut Liebe for game-ending pressure. Metalzoa is not the most efficient payoff, but it is the signature Keith card that gives the deck its identity.
