Antimeta Edison (March 2010)
Deck Primer
Here we are, an Edison version of one of my favourite decks (of which I have uploaded multiple versions), taking inspiration from the decklist I used to run in 2012.
I also took a little inspiration from a very nice deck I've found on the official Edison Format website. As a gentle reminder, you can use this website to check the card pool of the Edison format and this website to check the Edison forbidden & limited cards list.
The deck could easily work well with 40 to 42 cards, but no more than that.
Basically, we want to stun the opponent blocking every dangerous move with lots of traps and monsters which avoid special summoning, banish cards, bounce monsters, etc etc. A concrete risk is to run out of cards, so the Morphing Jar is usually a very pleasant hand reload
The Extra Deck is not used except for the Stardust Dragon, it's there just for a reference of good generic Synchros for this format.
The Side Deck probably has room for improvements, the most important card is King Tiger Wanghu that could turn out to be incredibly useful.
More:
- Gorz the Emissary of Darkness (just add one, can save from some last second disaster)
- Dimensional Fissure (we could run x1/2 more in the Main Deck or in the Side Deck, for the moment I feel like we have enough removals or maybe it's too much already)
- Book of Moon (super strong card, it's not limited in this format so I'm tempted to run more of those)
- Smashing Ground (super strong card, it's not limited in this format so I'm tempted to run more of those)
- Starlight Road (could be better to use directly 2 in the Main Deck, but depends on how frequently it's possible to encounter mass removals)
- Legendary Jujitsu Master (is a very powerful card, maybe run it in Main Deck instead of the Beast King Barbaros or simply as an addition)
Less:
- Dimensional Fissure (I have lots of doubts about this card, it's very strong, but I don't know if increase it or move it to the Side Deck, maybe it's redundant)
- Dark Bribe (Having x2 in Main Deck and x1 in Side Deck could be too much, might consider removing x1 copy from one of the two decks)
- Royal Oppression (Depends on the opponents, but could be useful to move x1 copy from Main Deck to Side Deck)
- Black Horn of Heaven
- Banisher of the Light
- Raigeki Break
- Torrential Tribute
- D.D. Assailant
- D.D. Crow
- Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
- Gold Sarcophagus
- Trap Dustshot
- Skill Drain
- Call of the Haunted
