Power: Low Rogue (7.4/10) - This is stronger and fully TCG-legal, but it stays Low Rogue because it is still a trap-led Buster Blader lock deck that prefers going first and can stumble when Prologue or Whelp is stopped.
Consistency: Strong. Buster Whelp, Prologue of the Destruction Swordsman, Trap Trick, Cards of Consonance, Emblem of Dragon Destroyer, One for One, Foolish Burial, and Pot of Extravagance give the deck several ways to reach the lock pieces or dig for interaction.
Ceiling: Strong when the lock resolves. Buster Dragon plus Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman can shut off monster effects and punish Dragon-converted boards, while Dragon Buster Destruction Sword adds Extra Deck lock pressure when it sticks.
Recovery: Solid. Prologue, Destruction Sword Memories, Emblem, Monster Reborn, extra Buster Dragon copies, and graveyard fusion lines let the deck rebuild after the first lock is broken, though banish-heavy disruption still hurts.
Going first/second: Best going first with Whelp or Trap Trick into Prologue, backed by Ash Blossom, Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence, or DNA Surgery. Going second, the side deck brings Evenly Matched, Nibiru, Cosmic Cyclone, Artifact Lancea, Droll, and Feather Duster to simplify boards before setting up the lock.
Choke points: Stop Buster Whelp before it searches, stop Prologue before it resolves, banish Buster Blader or Memories before the graveyard fusion line, or remove Buster Dragon before Dragon Destroyer converts the matchup. Spell/trap removal on set Prologue also matters.
Key cards: Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman, Prologue of the Destruction Swordsman, Destruction Sword Memories, Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, Buster Dragon, Trap Trick, Pot of Extravagance, Infinite Impermanence.
Key combos: Whelp searches Prologue. Prologue sends Destruction Sword Memories and Buster Blader to make Buster Dragon, then Memories banishes materials to summon Dragon Destroyer. Trap Trick acts as extra Prologue access. DNA Surgery or Buster Dragon turns opposing monsters into Dragons, making Dragon Destroyer much harder to attack through. Pot of Extravagance digs for starters while the extra deck runs duplicate lock pieces to absorb the banish cost.
