Broad Categories
This simple strategy has cards that fall into three simple categories:
- Self-Destruction
- Big Attack
- Field Swarming
Primary Packages: Sacred Beasts, Yubel, Unchained
Reccommend Sacred Beasts Guides (from Jesse Kotton and Revz Cards):
Reccommened Yubel Guides (from Gnurrgard and PhantomsYGO):
What do we want our Deckmaster to do? Dark Beckoning Beast
- Combo Starter
- Find Sacred Beast Spell/Traps
- Additional Normal Summon
A fantastic Normal Summon for the strategy, Dark Beckoning Beast allows the deck to easily put monsters on the field for out Link-Summoning plays through its search ability and additional normal summon. The most important card to search is Opening of the Spirit Gates, which not only provides another search, and revive a fiend, but also gives us the ability to recur a continous spell from our GY.
From only the Normal Summon of Dark Beckoning Beast and 2 discards, we will be able to set up a full field of a Negate , a Disruption , and lastly a Destruction.
You may also choose to access the Sacred Beast combo lines with Dark Beckoning Beast, which will be able to set up 1-2 Sacred Beasts on the field. The important card to search using Dark Beckoning Beast for this combo would be the Dark Summoning Beast to summon a Sacred Beast straight from deck.
If you wish to summon out the Fusion Armityle the Chaos Phantasm - Phantom of Fury instead, it can be done by sending all the Sacred Beasts to GY using Chaos Core (use Unchained Soul of Sharvara to target it, searched by Unchained Soul Lord of Yama) and then fuse the Armityle the Chaos Phantasm - Phantom of Fury by using Fiendsmith's Sequence to shuffle back all the Sacred Beasts to deck.
Dark Beckoning Beast can add:
Please remember that the additional normal summon provided by Dark Beckoning Beast can be used on any Fiend monster with 0 Atk /0 Def, regardless of its Level.
Self-Destruction
- Destroy Spirit of Yubel over and over and over...
- Destroy Unchained cards to summon monsters!
- Trigger Unchained Soul Lord of Yama
Spirit of Yubel has no once-per-turn on its ability to summon out a Yubel if it is destroyed. This lack of once-per-turn can be leveraged by destroying it using Nightmare Pain and our various Unchained cards, all while generating monster advantage. You always want to be destroying Spirit of Yubel or Yubel if there is any effect that requires a card of ours to be destroyed. If you happen to not have Spirit of Yubel on the field, please check the GY to see if you can use Gruesome Grave Squirmer GY effect to revive Spirit of Yubel. These Yubel cards - Spirit of Yubel , Yubel , Yubel - Terror Incarnate , Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare - all allow us to easily generate monsters on the field so long as we are destroying them.
The primary entry point to accessing Spirit of Yubel is Samsara D Lotus. Samsara D Lotus can be revived from GY by Opening of the Spirit Gates or Muckraker From the Underworld once it is sent to GY using Aerial Eater.
Spirit of Yubel can add:
The ability to benefit off destruction of our cards also allows this deck to play better into disruptions that destroy our cards, because we will then be able to profit off that destruction. (However this only applies to monster destruction and not Spell/Trap Destruction)
Field Swarming
- Make sure you can summon your Moon of the Closed Heaven and Unchained Soul Lord of Yama
- Use Spirit of Yubel and Opening of the Spirit Gates to get many monsters
- Link Summon using your swarm of monsters
The Fiend Extra Deck is extremely generic, which allows us to easily pivot any monster we obtain into advantage. Our Deckmaster Dark Beckoning Beast is fantastic in its ability to put 2 dark fiends on the field with only one Normal Summon. Opening of the Spirit Gates is also fantastic for its ability to revive a fiend monster from GY.
In particuar, we want to summon out Moon of the Closed Heaven in order to gain access to Fiendsmith's Sequence. This is because the easiest way to find Samsara D Lotus, and by extention the Yubel archetype, is by using Fiendsmith's Sequence to summon Aerial Eater to send Samsara D Lotus to GY.
Because Moon of the Closed Heaven can use any effect monster as material, we play Danger! monsters as additional extension. Danger! monsters can also be used as cost to discard for the effects of Opening of the Spirit Gates and Muckraker From the Underworld while still also providing additional effects.
When we have Fiend monsters, we are able to easily create an Unchained Soul Lord of Yama. This is the primary point of access for the Unchained engine. The most important endpiece of the Unchained engine is Unchained Soul of Rage , which can be easily made if we add Unchained Soul of Sharvara using Unchained Soul Lord of Yama.
In the cases of Grind Games, please remember that Opening of the Spirit Gates can add back a Continous Spell from GY, and that Awakening of the Sacred Beasts can add back a Continous Trap from GY.
Please also note that Muckraker From the Underworld ability to protect our monsters from destruction (by tributing a Fiend monster instead) can be used multiple times per turn.
Big Attack
- Use the Big 4000 ATK of Raviel, Lord of Phantasms and Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder!
- Reflect battle damage through Nightmare Pain!
While all of the monsters in the Yubel archetype have 0 ATK / 0 DEF , the battle damage redirection ability of Nightmare Pain allows the deck to easily OTK given our opponents have highly statted monsters. Additionally, because our opponents are forced by Nightmare Pain to attack into Yubel monsters, they sometimes will have no choice but to die by their hubris!
Attack Power is where the Sacred Beasts shine the most. In addition to Raviel, Lord of Phantasms and Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder each holding a respectable 4000 ATK, their fusion monster Armityle the Chaos Phantasm gains 10000 ATK (during our turn only)! The "dificulty" lies in summoning these monsters, however we are fortunate in that we never have to summon them using their own ridiculous conditions. Due to Phantasmal Summoning Beast and Dark Summoning Beast, we can directly IGNORE their summoning conditions AND summon them from Deck! Both of the Summoning Beast can be searched using our deckmaster Dark Beckoning Beast.
Summoning out the 10000 ATK Armityle the Chaos Phantasm is similarly easy. By using Chaos Core (searchable through our deckmaster Dark Beckoning Beast), we can send all the required Sacred Beast Fusion Materials to GY, and summon out Armityle the Chaos Phantasm through the fusion effect of Fiendsmith's Sequence by shuffling the Materials back into Deck!
If the Sacred Beasts high attack power does not end the game, use of their continous trap Awakening of the Sacred Beasts most definetly will bring victory closer. This powerful trap has effects that scale based on the number of Sacred Beasts controled, and is the primary endboard piece for the Sacred Beast strategy.
