A digital backup of my own Deck IRL. Basically, what I'm trying to achieve is a combination of a classic Dark Magician beatdown with a Spell Counter stall side strategy. Since Spell Counter-reliant cards need time to secure themselves on the field, the Dark Magician with its numerous support cards can serve as a cover to buy yourself some time to set up your field, since you can search him out very easily, Special Summon it in so many different ways, and bring him back just as quickly if he's destroyed.
I've played this Deck for years and the bane of my existence is hand disruption. This Deck cannot tolerate a single missing combo piece. I suppose it's a given, since to create a hybrid of two main strategies, I've included the bare minimum of both to make it work.
Also, I do notice that this Deck is composed of monsters with not-so-high ATK points, with the highest being Blizzard Princess and Dark Magician of Chaos at 2800 points and the former being easier to bring out. Against decks that rely on high ATK, I rely heavily on a few key cards such as Swords of Concealing Light and Book of Moon to flip them face-down and mow them over or remove them with Shield Crush, or bait them into attacking and slap any battle traps I happen to set beforehand. There's also Copycat to do a kamikaze into their strongest beatstick, which usually evens the field since monsters with enormous ATK tend to use up a lot of resources to bring out and have some form of protection from card effects-- so killing them by battle is the easiest way out.
Side note: I've just returned to the game last month, with one week's worth of Google-Fu as my only guide on all the new type of Monster Cards and its respective Summons. I'm trying to keep this deck fully Spellcaster-based, hence why the barren Extra Deck. Will be updated as I progress and upgrade my own deck IRL.
