No, you're not disassociating. This is an actual thing I made.
Basically one day I thought about how Neos is a meta defining deck in Duel Links because Neos Fusion is a slightly restrictive Foolish Burial, which makes it good for control in that format, and I went "but what if I did that." And so from a combination of that and a bit of inspiration from that Shark Paleo Frog deck that did well in Challislme Monthly, I made a control deck with Neos Fusion as the centerpiece. And you know what? It's been pretty good.
Strategy is fairly self explanatory, go first, summon Brave Neos with Neos Fusion sending Neos and Supreme King Back Jack (or Phantom Knights of Shade Boots, but Back Jack is better for playing around Duster and Lightning Storm, so I don't recommend doing that on turn one unless you drew literally no other interaction) and blow out the opponent with good staple traps. The Neo-Spacians and Connector seem like easy cuts at a glance, but the Neo-Spacians are really good discards off of Keeper of Dragon Magic, since you can summon them right back, and their effects even come in handy some times (better to have 2500 more LP turn one than not have 2500 more LP turn one). And Connector's recovery effect has come in handy for me a few times now.
If you're going to cut anything from the main deck, I recommend making it either Miracle Contact, or maaaaaaaaaaybe a copy of Ice Dragon's Prison? Cuz your opponent's got to have a card in the GY for it to be activated? The Extra Deck is a lot more flexible, the only cards that are unnegotiable are Almiraj, Rainbow Neos, three Brave Neos, and at least one Verte. I highly recommend the Neo-Spacian's respective fusion monsters, though, just so you can summon them back with Keeper.
The side deck is just a Waking the Dragon package you can flex game 2 when you know your opponent's gonna fade into sweepers like Lightning Storm. Feel free to put whatever you want in there.
I honestly think this deck has potential to be, if absolutely nothing else, a somewhat competent Rogue deck. I'd put it on par with that Paleo Shark Frog deck I mentioned earlier, at least. I've seen way more success with this deck than I expected to, and I highly recommend you try it out.
