Charmer Magistus Pendulum Magicians aka Hexer Pendulums
Deck Primer
Hi all, I love this deck and people have been asking me where they could get a decklist, so I wanted to share it with everyone and hopefully give you some good pointers on how to start winning with this deck :)
When I read the Magistus cards for the first time, I couldn’t believe they were printed. For those who don’t know the Magistus archetype is a series of level 4 spellcaster support with the gimmick of generating advantage through attaching monsters in the extra deck. Zoroa, the Magistus of Flames is a standout card in the archetype. He can special a level 4 spellcaster when he’s equipped with a magistus AND equip himself with a Magistus monster from the extra deck. He is great for simplifying gamestates, extending plays, and the fact that he’s a level 4 tuner gives him huge versatility. In BODE we’re getting the new synchro Zoroa who can single-handedly lock your opponent out of the game. The Magistus although powerful don’t really have a way to get the ball rolling and start generating a lot of cards by themselves so they’re just begging to be paired with something powerful.
Pendulum Magicians are something powerful. In this deck the normal summon is already hugely impactful, and essentially being able to do it again with a pendulum summon gives combos near limitless potential while also providing a stable way to continually generate advantage once the cards are set up.
The charmers are in here because they make Zoroa plays much better. Awakening of the possessed is the absurd card in this set though. Both it’s effects are very strong, as 1850 monsters are readily available and we do play all 6 types. Think about it, 3 monsters with different types represent 2700 atk from this card alone. This makes our end monsters beefy and you cant complain when you’re drawing an extra card every turn.
This deck can do some really cool different combos and put up a lot of interruption, sometimes through interruptions. It can also play the control game through cards like Time Pendulumgraph or just straight up lock your opponent out of the game with Archnemeses Protos or Secret Village. Every game feels fun, but sometimes I do feel sorry for the person on the receiving end.
Well that’s all, I hope you have fun, let me know how you like it.
