2026 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Competitors (Part 2) And here are the other 14 duelists who qualified for this year's Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship!

Overview

Welcome to Part 2 of our 2026 World Championship Duelists article! We still have 14 duelists to go over, so let's get right into it!

Sebastian Todd

Sebastian Todd, also known in the online circles by his username DeadlyB7, is a prominent competitive duelist in North America! He made his mark on the scene at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, topping several Remote Duel YCSes. Back in the day, he was also respected as an elite Dragon Link player. After taking a small break from the scene aside from a few regional stints here and there, Sebastian managed to fight his way through the NAWCQ and qualify for the World Championships with Kewl Tune! With KT getting knocked down a peg going into the event, he may pilot into a different strategy or try to find replacements for the consistency hits. We'll just have to wait and see! Don't count him out!

Charley Futch

Hailing from North America, Charley Futch has experience in the game beyond his years and is one of the most successful young players since 2018, when he won the Dragon Duel World Championship! He is very familiar with the Worlds scene, as this will be his fourth overall qualification after placing second in WCQ North America with Kewl Tune, facing off against Ryan Yu in the finals, who was on Sky Striker! Furthermore, this will be Charley's second consecutive Worlds appearance, as he competed in Paris just last year. His multiple wins and tops speak for themselves of his abilities, and we can surely expect him to show his experience once more in the upcoming event. He’s known for his Mitsurugi and Kewl Tune strategies, but the World Championship’s own forbidden and limited list is taking a hit at both. Will Charley gravitate towards the rising Light and Darkness Ritual, or something else? Time will tell!

Gabriel Braithwaite

Commonly known as Jib/Jibriel and GGJibrielXD online as a content creator, Jib has been active in the game since 2022 and has quickly climbed to be one of North America’s best. He has seen success in dozens of premier events, with a formidable record of 12 YCS tops and many regional results, especially piloting Maliss and, more recently, Kewl Tune. This will be his first time going to the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship after securing his spot by getting 3rd place at the 2026 NAWCQ, his best tournament result to date. Jib has deep knowledge of the game and shares that with the community, which will surely aid him against the big names participating in the upcoming event. As Kewl Tune has been hit by the World Championship’s own forbidden and limited list, it is hard to speculate on what he might bring to fight for the title of World Champion. Let’s keep an eye on him!

Josh Kelly

Coming from the United Kingdom, Europe, Josh is one of the country’s best and most accomplished modern duelists for the last few years. He has many regional wins in his name, but his prowess has come out in the premier events like UK’s nationals and YCS tops, such as achieving Top 64 in YCS Dortmund and being very active in the community. He can be very unpredictable with his deck choices, which makes preparing against him a difficult task. In 2026 alone, he has been seen getting results with Dracotail, Magnet Warrior, and Yummy, the last being a unique pile with Sky Striker and Magnet Warrior as complementary engines. He was, in fact, one of the first players to get results with the Magnet Warrior strategy. He secured his spot in the 2026 Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship with Branded Light and Darkness Ritual, getting second place in the European Points Playoffs. As to what he will bring to surprise us remains to be seen!

残城草木@牌佬の羁绊

The competitive environment in the China Mainland OCG circuit has always been cutthroat, but the 2026 season belongs entirely to "残城草木". After giving the community a taste of his immense potential with a stellar Top 4 finish at the regional level in Shanghai, he completely elevated his game to the absolute pinnacle at the grand finals. Masterfully piloting the highly dynamic Kewl Tune deck, he outplayed the region's fiercest competitors to capture the ultimate crown, Top 1 at the Yu-Gi-Oh! China Mainland WCQ 2026 OCG. With flawless technical play and unmatched strategic precision, he has secured his ticket to the world stage, stamping his authority as a premier representative for the region at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2026.

Saito Yoshiki

Known across the local Japanese competitive circuit as a versatile and formidable threat, Saito Yoshiki has consistently topped local tournaments by showcasing mastery over a wide variety of strategies. For the 2026 season, however, Saito chose to harness the undeniable momentum of the Toon deck on the national stage. Demonstrating exceptional adaptability and deep technical awareness, he successfully navigated Japan's fiercely competitive field to claim a prestigious Top 4 finish at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Japan Championship 2026. His ability to master any deck put in front of him has earned Saito his well-deserved ticket to represent Japan on the World Championship stage. Because Toon is not legal for the tournament, it's up to Saito as to which deck he'll be bringing to the prestigious stage.

Logan Johnson

Logan Johnson from Team Gaming Metro is no stranger to the competitive scene as a whole, with 6 YCS Tops under his belt. The final stretch of the NAWCQ is something Logan is quite familiar with, as he was just shy of qualifying 4 times in total! That all changed this year, as he finally secured his invite!  Normally, the Top 4 are those who qualify for the World Championships. Still, because Ryan Yu is playing for Master Duel and Mario De Micco already had his invite via playoffs, the other duelists remaining in the Top 8 had a chance to nab the prestigious spot. With his excellent technical play and piloting, Logan managed to grab it with Kewl Tune! We're excited to see what he brings to the table going into the tournament.

Paul-Robert Goß

A mystery contender! The German duelist Paul has taken the world by surprise, appearing seemingly out of nowhere in the spotlight to take up the World Championship stage. His first major top dates back to 2022 with Top 64 in YCS Dortmund, after which he’s topped both of the European WCQs. In 2025, he already had his eyes on the prize, getting an impressive Top 16 placement with Maliss. When he returned this year, he climbed all the way to Top 4 of the EUWCQ, this time piloting Branded with a very unique take on it, using Fusion Deployment when nearly everyone else had cut the card due to it preventing access to Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon. This means he’ll be against the big names of the Yu-Gi-Oh competitive world in an effort to surprise the scene once more. Will he bring Branded again, or something else? If there’s anything tournaments have taught us, remember to watch out for the underdog!

Mario Ernesto Moncada Serazio

Mario Moncada is considered to be one of the best duelists in Honduras. Since 2018, this duelist has been performing very well across Regionals. Being one of the old guard, he's gone through multiple formats and eras of the game. From the times when Trickstar and Thunder Dragon were considered top-tier threats, to Snake-Eye format, to Justice Hunters, and now all the way to now, where Kewl Tune is considered the best deck. After powering through regional after regional to get enough points for the CAWCQ playoffs, he managed to win the entire thing and secure his slot! Only time will tell if he sticks with the deck going into the event!

Tsang Hin Fung

Tsang Hin Fung from Hong Kong has been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! for around 20 years and returned to competitive play during COVID. After repeatedly falling just outside the Top Cut, he stayed motivated by his love for the game and belief that he could achieve something one day. That persistence paid off in 2026, with a Top 32 finish at YOT Hong Kong, followed by becoming WCQ Hong Kong and WCQ Asia Champion and qualifying for the World Championship. He credits his success partly to a group of friends he regularly plays with and exchanges advice with, while his preference for control-style decks has shaped his approach to competition.

Shibata Yuki

Shibata Yuki is a seasoned veteran whose competitive roots in the Japanese scene run deep, having participated as far back as the West Japan WCQ in 2016. A decade after his early regional appearance, Shibata reached new heights for the 2026 season, officially earning a spot on the prestigious 2026 Japan National Team. Navigating the national stage with exceptional technical mastery, he piloted the high-octane Maliss deck through a fiercely competitive field to secure a stellar Top 4 finish at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Japan Championship 2026. His decade-long experience and relentless drive have firmly stamped his ticket to represent Japan at the World Championship. Unfortunately, he will not be able to take his beloved Maliss strategy into the World Championships due to the combined hits. Let's look forward to what he brings!

Zhang Jiawei

Zhang Jiawei, widely known across the community as "阳光" (Yangguang), stands as one of the most consistent and formidable competitors in the Chinese circuit, having made global headlines with an impressive Top 8 finish at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2024 piloting Tenpai Dragon. Backed by a decorated resume that includes a Top 1 victory at Duelist Cup China Mainland 2022, Top 4 finishes at both WCQ China Mainland 2024 and CCT Dalian 2024, and a Top 3 placement at WCQ Beijing 2025, Zhang reached the summit once again for the 2026 season. Harnessing exceptional tactical precision, he piloted the Toon deck to perfection, conquering the field to capture the Top 1 title at the WCQ China Final 2026 Simplified Chinese and securing his well-earned return to the World Championship stage. Because Toon is not legal for the tournament, Zhang will have to prepare accordingly and choose what he believes is the best option going into the event.

Yannik Ackermann

Relatively new to the big scene, young German player Yannik started as a Dragon Duelist. He won the Dragon Duel Championship Series Utrecht 2020, and after aging out of the category, has moved to get consistent results in the advanced format. In 2025, he managed to get Top 32 in YCS Lille, and in 2026 his many regional tops earned him a spot to compete in the European Points Playoffs. He qualified for the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship by getting third place with his unique build of Branded, maindecking Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos and Skull Archfiend of Chaos. Whether this will be the deck he trusts to carry him to the title or if he’ll bring something else equally surprising, we will wait and see. It’s time for Yannik to take on the titans in the World Championship and prove whether he has what it takes to become the Yu-Gi-Oh World Champion!

Enokizono Seigo

While most players stick to standard meta templates, Enokizono Seigo chose a path of pure innovation to secure his place among the elite. Previously recognized as a dominant force who was usually found winning top local tournaments, Seigo completely shattered expectations on the national stage for the 2026 season. He shocked the field by piloting a highly unique and heavily customized Tri-Brigade Toon variant. Thanks to this brilliant and unorthodox deck build, which perfectly blended the disruptive power of Tri-Brigade with the relentless meta pressure of Toons, he outmaneuvered countless top-tier strategies. His phenomenal run carried him all the way to a spectacular Runner-up finish at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Japan Championship 2026, proving that rogue creativity backed by masterclass execution can absolutely take a duelist to the pinnacle of the game. Because Toons are not legal for the tournament, I'm sure Enokizono Seigo will be bringing a unique deck going into the tournament.
