Just a revisited version of my old
Antimeta from 2012. At the time, in May 2019, I wanted to go back and play a few games after a 7-year break, therefore I took one of the strongest old decks and adapted to the active banlist (
April 2019) and I also achieved the 2nd place in a local tournament!
The
core idea of the deck is to summon some good troublemakers as
Fossil Dyna and/or
Rai-Oh whose effects will start blocking the opponent's moves. You want to do everything you can to defend the one which stops your opponent as much as possible and you have plenty of choices to do so.
The
Doomcaliber is quite predictable, but a nice attacking monster which also creates some troubles. Also the
Grand Mole is useful to push back the Synchros from where they come from. The
Veiler is for emergencies and the
Banisher of the Radiance is good if the opponent uses the graveyard (which is quite common)
Cards will go away very quickly from your hand and field since you will activate lots of traps and spells, that's why we have the
Morphing Jar for a quick reload (might as well disrupt the opponent's plans) and the
Pots of Duality do no interfere with our plans since we do not special summon a lot.
The
extra deck is not relevant to our purposes except for what we could summon in the very rare occasion we use the
Veiler as a tuner or when we activate the
Starlight Road.
In the
side deck we can keep cards based on the meta, but a strong suggestion is
King Tiger Wanghu, which might literally ruin the day of an opponent and could easily be swapped in instead of the Banishers or any of the monsters we play according to the deck we are facing.
Please feel free to explore my uploaded decks to find the evolution of my favourite one through the years in a way that reflects a little the story of the game itself! Leave your comments and like if I brought you back some sweet memories!
