Tri-Brigade Gladiator Beast August 2021
Deck Primer
First of all, This Deck is only one of many ways to play with tri-brigade, neither the strongest nor the weakest, but is the way that I like the most.
The idea of how to build this deck came when I was studying the history of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s meta and saw the Gladiator beasts. The archtype’s strategy caught my eyes because it resembles a lot of link plays, two monsters to make one. The only problem that I have with this strategy is speed, only because it is an old strategy in a modern format. So the tri-brigade in conjunction with the test panther are here to make this deck great once again like the Roman Empire (probably will fall too hehehe).
Inside The Gladiator's field:
The final goal with the gladiator beast’s strategy is to make a final board with “Gladiator Beast Domitianus”, “Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess” and “Gladiator Beast Heraklinos” or “Gladiator Beast Domitianus”, “Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty” and the “Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds”. These two boards are decent, each one in its one way. The first one gives you 4 to 5 monster’s negates (3 to 4 by Apollousa and one by Domitianus) and one spell/trap negate (Heraklinos). The second one can give you one monster negate plus a lock down in a form that negates every monster’s summons but wind ones.
To make this board, the vital piece is “Test Panther''. Why? You can ask me and I will happily answer. The role of this piece is to search any gladiator card: it can be a monster that is missing, a spell to extend or the only trap for the next turn. This card effect goes even further, shuffling a gladiator beast monster to search for another one. This effect counts as summoning by a gladiator beast effect, so any gladiator beast’s effect that needs this to activate will activate. With that being said let’s go to combos:
First of all, Tri-Brigade Kerass or any other tri-brigade need to hit the field. It can be easily fulfilled by the normal tri-brigade combo. Second, a gladiator beast needs to be on field too. For that, 3x Gladiator Beast Andal plus the normal monster support like Rescue Rabbit and Unexpected Dai are here to speed things up. With this set up, Kerass will cheat Test Panther from the extra deck, so it can search any Gladiator beast’s card, preferably Gladiator Beast Attorix. After that, Test Phanter’s second effect can shuffle the Andal or any other gladiator beast to summon any gladiator beast ,counting as a summon by a gladiator beast’s effect. Soo, counting as you searched Gladiator Beast Attorix, you need to summon Gladiator Beast Augustus, in this way by the effect of him Gladiator Beast Attorix will be summoned, dropping (by her effect) in the GY Gladiator Beast Vespasius, gaining his name and level.
With two level 5 or more Gladiatores Beasts on field, by contact fusion, Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor can hit the field. He can cheat any fusion Gladiator Beast, soft once per turn. This is a good way to do what you need to do:
For the Tri Brigade battle:
The Tri Brigade Combo is simple as everybody already knows. The true shining diamond of this engine is to cheat out powerful link monsters who can shake the field’s state very easily.
To start any good combo only using this engine, in case that you not open with any way to make gladiator beast’s plays, the best recipe is: First of all, the best start is already having Tri-Brigade Fraktal on hand or a way to have him on hand (Fire Formation Tenki). In this way, by Tri-Brigade Fraktal’s effect you can discard him, dropping Tri-Brigade Kitt in resolution. With her effect, send to GY Tri-Brigade Nervall, bringing Tri-Brigade Kerass to the hand in the process. Discarding any beast, beast-warrior or winged-beast, Kerass hit the field without spending any normal summon, ready to use his effect to bring any beast, beast-warrior or winged-beast Link monster that you might need.
With Kerass in the field the end board could be:
The conclusion
Like I said in the beginning, his Deck is only one of many ways to play with tri-brigade, neither the strongest nor the weakest, but is the way that I like the most. This Deck has good openings, good going seconds and room to spice techs, so I´’m happy to share him with you guys .

- If you want to destroy any card you can bring Gladiator Beast Gyzarus (destroys two card on the field upon summon), using him and Test Panther to bring Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty, locking the opponent with the Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds;
- If you want bring as much negation as possible and have Gladiator Beast's Comeback in the hand you can summon Gladiator Beast Domitianus (one monster negate and a body of 3500), using Kerass, Tamer Editor and Test Phanter as link material for “Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess” will have 3 negates, after that resurrecting Tamer Editor with Gladiator Beast's Comeback, you can cheat Gladiator Beast Heraklinos, to finish the board;
- If you want lock plus one negate you can bring Gladiator Beast Domitianus, using Test Panther and Nerval to bring Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty, locking the opponent with the Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds.

- if you want to shut down everything: Bring Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty locking the opponent with Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds.
- if you want to shut down everything plus a follow up (have to have Nervall on hand): Normal summon Tri-Brigade Nervall, then summon Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm the Rampant Rampager with Kerass or Nervall an then summon Ancient Warriors Oath - Double Dragon Lords with Kerass or Nervall. To end the combo, use Nervall and Bearbrumm to summon Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty, locking the opponent with the Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds. Bearbrumm will give you Tri-Brigade Revolt, soo if your opponent found a way to deal with Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds, he/she will have to deal with Tri-Brigade Revolt (Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen, the remover without targeting) .
