Burst of Destiny Market Watch - Pick These Up Early! Burst of Destiny (BODE) is set to release on the 20th of October this year. The set might mess around and take over the meta with two strong archetype

Burst of Destiny (BODE) is set to release on the 20th of October this year. The set might mess around and take over the meta with two strong archetypes, Xiangjian and Flundereeze about to debut. In addition to that, Destroy Phoenix Enforcer, an extremely useful and splashable monster will be in the mix, as well. Several support cards relating to these upcoming tools have already risen up in price and will continue to do so. Let's take a look at some of them and help you guys scoop them up early before it's too late!

Turning Over a New Leaf

"The next update after this will be no sooner than October 1, 2021." Burst of Destiny will come out after the new banlist. This means that the top decks will be tuned down a notch as the new archetypes make their debut. A new atmosphere will surface so let's look at what we can expect.

Chi Xiao
.

Xiangjian (or Swordsoul, as what's seemingly going to be the TCG name) is a strategy that allows you to synchro summon with tokens generated by the main deck monsters. They revolve heavily around the Wyrm archetype, so we should expect Wyrm supporting cards to see a lot of play.

Empen, released in Burst of Destiny

Flundereeze, on the other hand, is an archetype that focuses on multiple normal summons. They revolve around Wind and Water Winged-Beast monsters, so we can expect some spikes in that department, too.

Pre-Burst of Destiny Cops

Baxia

Baxia is integral to the Xiangjian strategy as it gives a huge boost to your options going 2nd as a good removal card. Even if it just got a reprint in Kings' Court, the other copies have still risen in price. This will probably only continue as we near the Burst of Destiny release. The Secret Rare copies are already up to $20 for the MP15 and $45 for the DUEA ones and around $55 for the Ultimate Rare printing. Yazi is also rising, but not as much as Baxia. It's up to around $10 for the Secret Rares and $40 for the Ultimates.

Token Collector. A card that will surely rise in price in Burst of Destiny

Token Collector has also risen in price due to Xiangjian's release in Burst of Destiny. The SOFU Sneak Peek participation Ultra Rare print has gone up to $10 and might even break the $20 mark once we get to October, so get your copies now!

Vishuda

Vishuda, as well as Adhara, are the two Tenyis used in the Xiangjian strategy. They both have only 1 foil print, being the OTS run. Both these cards run for $5-6 right now. This will probably continue to shoot up as they are versatile options either to make a synchro 8 or as going 2nd cards to break boards.

Evil Twin Lil-la

Lil-la, along with Ki-sikil and Ki-sikil Frost have all increased in price. This is due to the impending release of Trouble Sunny in Burst of Destiny. The Evil Twin deck will become a more consistent 1-card combo deck that gets you 2 draws and a pop. Due to that, the links have climbed up to $15 apiece while Frost is hitting the $8 mark as of writing. The Collectors Rare versions of the links, however, are much steeper at $80-100+. Frost, on the other hand, is at $200 for the Starlight version. Needless to say, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to cop the deck. However, if you wait longer, it might cost 2 of each!

Fusion Destiny

Burst of Destiny also has Destroy Phoenix Enforcer. That said, Fusion Destiny has taken its part in the price-spiking phenomenon. This will either be a 3-of (because it doesn't have Red-Eyes Fusion's restrictions) or at the very least the lone copy for the Verte Anaconda. The card is already at around $5 apiece for both printings, so you better get yours now before they go up even further.

Destiny Hero - Dasher

Destiny Hero - Dasher is one of the usual materials used for Fusion Destiny. It's worth mentioning since it only has 1 foil printing, being an Ultimate Rare. The price on those has shot up to $100-150 for mod to light play copies.

Raiza the Mega Monarch

Flundereeze makes use of Raiza extremely well with their City of Dreams. The card only has two printings and both are Secret Rare. It currently stands at around $15 for each copy, and could potentially skyrocket if Flundereeze finds more success in the TCG!

Honorable Mentions

Though unrelated to Burst of Destiny, some cards have shown an upward trend as of late. Let's take a look at some of those.

Bahamut Shark

With Draco Future finally released, some people have experimented with the Shark deck that pumps out 3 Toadally Awesome's and a Draco Future. This strategy requires 3 Bahamut Sharks that prompted the increase in price. In addition to this, Stealth Kragen was also released, which utilizes Bahamut to make a layer of negation. Bahamut Shark currently sits at around $9 for the OTS Supers, $10 for the Gold Rares, and a cool $30 for the Secret Rares.

Inzektor Hornet

Inzektor Hornet is one of the most expensive Inzektor cards. There has been a slow but steady increase in price for some Inzektor cards. This is due to the much-awaited create-a-card entry for the deck. Hornet is now at a decent $15 price point for Near Mint copies. If you're one of the insect gang and are still not in possession of these, you might wanna snag some now before it balloons even further!

Dimension Shifter

Dimension Shifter might not have risen up quite as much as the other cards in this list, but it's something to keep watch of. This is one of the, if not the most powerful hand trap if you can utilize it. Flundereeze will be able to abuse this card, and that might shift its price up a bit when October rolls around.

Conclusion

We still have quite a ways to go before the release of Burst of Destiny. We even have a Forbidden and Limited list due between now and October 20th. That being said, we should still be alert. Some of these cards might suddenly skyrocket. Some other new cards might end up more expensive than what we have here. For now, use this information to make wise decisions on cards that you might want to invest in early if you're going to pick up decks in October!
