ABC-Dragon Buster Deck Structure

ABCs are a unique archetype that have two effects, one for when they equip themselves, and one when they hit the grave. The first effect typically isn’t used much, but the second effect is what lets ABCs shine. A cool thing to note is that you can equip an ABC part to a monster, and if you overlay/synchro, you can proc the part’s effect, which comes in really handy with combos where you need to search your parts

ABC Skeleton

A-Assault Core x3: Attaches to provide immunity to monster effects. When he hits the grave, he lets you recycle an ABC monster. He’s probably the most lacklustre out of all the ABC parts, since the grave effect is incredibly situational. You’ll mostly only be using it if you need fodder to dump for something like Galaxy Soldier or Twin Twister. Otherwise, you typically want your parts in the grave so you can Special ABC Dragon Buster. He’s a necessary evil, so we’re running him at 3.

B-Buster Drake x3: Attaches to provide immunity to spells, and gives you a free search when he hits the grave. This is the best part, and is what you’ll always want to get out with Union Hanger, since he gives you the ability to search for any missing pieces to get out ABC Dragon Buster. We’re running all the parts at 3, but this guy is definitely the best combo-enabler we have.

C-Crush Wyvern x3: Attaches to provide immunity to traps, and lets you special an ABC part from your hand. He mostly lets you extend your plays, and he’s really useful for bringing out your ABC Dragon Buster.

Galaxy Soldier x3: He lets you dump an ABC part in your hand, and is often how you get Infinity out. He’s also a transmodify target, which lets you get ABC Dragon Buster + Infinity in one turn. I’ll go through the combo later, but the point is that he’s really good.

Silver Gadget x2: The gadgets synergise nicely with the ABC parts, letting you get a free rank 4 off. Resonator builds use it to prepare for Crystal Wing by getting out Stardust Charge, or get a Leo out. We run two of each because more gets cloggy.

Transmodify x3: This gives you an easy way to destroy your ABC parts to proc their grave effects, and prepare to summon Infinity. The most basic combo uses Transmodify + Union Hanger to get out Cyber Dragon Infinity + ABC Dragon Buster in one turn. You just go Union Hanger -> Search Buster -> Normal Buster -> Activate Union Hanger’s effect -> Attach either Assault or Crush -> Use transmodify to summon Galaxy Soldier -> Search for another Galaxy Soldier -> Activate Buster’s effect -> Search for either Crush or Assault, the one you’re missing -> Discard to Special your second Galaxy Soldier -> Overlay the two Galaxy Soldiers for Infinity -> Banish for ABC.

Terraforming x2-3: Union Hanger’s really good for starting plays.

Union Hanger x3: It gives you a free search when you activate it, and lets you equip another part whenever you summon an ABC part. The OPT clause hurts, but this is aa really good playmaker.

ABC-Dragon Buster x3: You go into all three quite a lot. They have a soft OPT clause that lets you banish a card on the field by discarding a card, which is amazing. Really fucks with Kozmos.

Brilliant Engine

The brilliant engine pretty much serves two purposes. It gives you an extra normal summon to extend your plays, and it also provides you an easy way to dump an ABC part into the grave, since they’re all light monsters.

Gem-Knights x2: It doesn’t really matter what gem-knights you use, since they’re very situational. I’m running 1 Lapis and 1 Garnet, but you can go two garnets, or whatever.

Performage Trick Clown x1: If you really don’t need to dump any ABC parts, trick clown gives you a nice way to reach an additional rank 4 in the case where you really don’t have much outside Transmodify + Brilliant Fusion + Union Hanger. You can go Union Hanger -> Search Buster -> Normal Buster -> Activate Union Hanger’s effect -> Attach Assault -> Use transmodify to summon Galaxy Soldier -> Search for another Galaxy Soldier -> Activate Buster’s effect -> Search for either Crush -> Return Buster to your hand -> Discard to Special your second Galaxy Soldier -> Overlay the two Galaxy Soldiers for Infinity -> Brilliant Fusion, dump Trick Clown -> Normal Summon Buster -> Overlay for a Rank 4, probably Castel to start spinning stuff -> Banish for ABC. He’s a nice way to extend your combos, and being a light monster means you can dump him with Galaxy Soldier and immediately bring him back.

Brilliant Fusion x3: You want to see it as soon as possible, so we run 3.

Gem-Knight Seraphinite x1-2: We typically run just one, but there’s times where I’d wish I had two, so it’s up to preference.

Potential Combos
ABC Combo One Union Hanger -> Search Buster -> Normal Buster -> Activate Union Hanger’s effect -> Attach either Assault or Crush -> Use transmodify to summon Galaxy Soldier -> Search for another Galaxy Soldier -> Activate Buster’s effect -> Search for either Crush or Assault, the one you’re missing -> Discard to Special your second Galaxy Soldier -> Overlay the two Galaxy Soldiers for Infinity -> Banish for ABC.
ABC Combo Two Union Hanger -> Search Buster -> Normal Buster -> Activate Union Hanger’s effect -> Attach Assault -> Use transmodify to summon Galaxy Soldier -> Search for another Galaxy Soldier -> Activate Buster’s effect -> Search for Crush -> Activate Assault’s Effect, and add back Buster to the hand -> Discard the ABC part -> Brilliant Fusion Seraph, dump whatever ABC part -> Normal Crush -> Equip to Galaxy Soldier -> Overlay for Nova -> Special Buster -> Equip to Nova -> Overlay to Infinity -> Search whatever ABC part -> Discard for Galaxy Soldier -> Overlay for Pleiades/Durendal -> Special the first ABC -> Special the second ABC.

    I am new so probably I just missing something simple, but how do you
    “Overlay the two Galaxy Soldiers for Infinity”?
    I would think you can overlay two Galaxy Soldiers for Nova, then next turn overlay summon Infinity over Nova, but I don’t see how this gets you Infinity Cyber Dragon in one turn.
