Why? WHY does Konami not bring back Servant to three copies??? Mythical without Endymion doesn't feel right. Nothing feels right without Endymion!

Well, I agree. It still doesn't explain why Joker and Iris Magician can come off the banlist and Endymion stays punished...

Joker and Iris just don't have the same impact as Servant does. Those could've been back to 3 a long time ago, and it wouldn't have made much difference, other than give magicians a few more options in terms of play style but they won't do anything too crazy as long as Astrograph is banned.

I see that Servant has the more powerful effect, special summoning from deck. But it is not like that Servant is a one card starter. If you draw Servant in your opening hand, you still need to activate three spells to accomplish its effect requirements. IF you draw it. Servant at three would bump it up to effectively like 9 copies!? And even then some ways to search it (Magical Abductor) still needs setup to search it. You need to build your deck around Servant or combine it with it an engine that relies heavily on spell cards.

You're right, and that deck exists. It's called Endymion/Mythical beasts. You can't sit there and tell me that opening with one Servant in hand is gonna prove to be a challenge to get 3 spell counters on it, when it's meant to be played in a deck that literally revolves around playing spell cards to accumulate spell counters. You kinda answered your own question as to why Joker and Iris can come back to 3 but Servant remains at 1. Having it at 1 ruins the consistency enough to make the deck playable, but not strong enough to shake the meta.

I fully agree, that in the right deck, like Mythical Endymion, it is very easy to pull off Servants effect. My point is, that compared to modern decks, heck even compared to decks that were Meta at the time, Servant was at three (Sky Striker, Orcust, Thunder Dragon, Salamangreat), the deck is not strong enough to compete, even with three Servants. There are many opportunitys to interrupt your plays, and even your established board is ,compared with todays standards, not unbreakable.

Very true, but while it may or may not be the case, we have to take into consideration the possibility that Konami really doesn't want pendulums to be on top again. Like you said, even back when Servant was at 3, it wasn't really that good compared to top meta decks at the time, but it was consistent enough that a lot of people were playing it. To the point where they justified limiting it to 1 and finally banning Electrumite (both in the same banlist), which made pendulums virtually unplayable competitively. And every once in a while, they might throw new pendulum support to please the fans, but sadly, it's never gonna be meant for more than just casual play.
